Jabs at local doctors for medical

Has anyone else had to pay for a vaccination at their local doctors, i just rang mine after putting in the form a few weeks ago, and have got told that i might have to pay for some of them, as they are not required for the uk.Also how long does it take roughy to go throught the whole lot as i wanna be booking my medical.cheers.

The time of this depends on which vaccinations you need.

Some of those needs a few visits by the doctor

I had all mine done at my local surgery, I told them why I wanted them.

No charge.

I had mine done at my own doctors with no charge.......get them done at your doctors because at the medical they charge a small fortune...the amount of time it takes will depend on what vaccinations you need. I would call the doctors and ask them that question, sometimes you can get them done all on the same day (again depending on what you need)

ok I only needed 2 shot with a month between.

Ive seen plenty of people on here say get them at your local docs cos its free, thats why i was shocked when they told me they might have to charge me for some. I did tell them why i wanted them, oh well ive got a 30 min appt on monday with the travel nurse, hopefully i'll get most done for free.Thanx to all that replied.

Chris only had to pay for the hep course jabs. Other then that they were free.

I had my MMR and DTP done free at GP, however my daughters Hep B cost £25 a shot.(3 shots)

Apparently its just the travel vaccines that you are charged for, i.e not the norm in UK.

Get them done at your GP if possible. I paid £60 to get them done at the medical exam.

Just back from the doctors, gotta pay roughly £80 for the Hep B course of injections, but the rest are free.Although the travel nurse was convinced i dont need the hib ones as the only info they had on that for adults was you only need it if you dont have a spleen, so shes gonna look into it.

I paid 30 quid for my son's 3 hep B jabs. Everything else was free.

Has anyone else had the 21 day Hep B course that im having? as ive been reading on here they should be a month apart, unless its me getting confused.

My own (I worked for the NHS) and my son's were 3 injections, each a month apart. Sorry, but I don't know much about the 21 day course. If in doubt, give your docs a ring and ask.

Pigu just got a new MMR jab because NHS lost his records. Don't kids get a booster shot four or five years after the first one? Will USCIS want him to have that as well?
