Hi eveyone, I am the beneficiary and I am writing to get some help.

My husband is an US citizen and he filed the I-130 for me since may 2013, we had a notice that it was approved this January 27 2014, and since then we haven´t hear nothing yet. Its very frustrating because we got married and he had to leave and return to the USA to his job and I remained in my country Nicaragua, during this time he has been coming and going to visit me and everytime he return its so hard for us to separate from each other, They always say that for foreign spouse of US citizen its faster but its been over 9 months now since we filed and still waiting for a miracle,

You should get your husband to contact NVC and find out if they've received your file yet. Sometimes it takes a few phone calls (that are very frustrating and take a long time) to track down where your file actually is.

Get him to check the status on the USCIS website to make sure that your file has been sent to NVC (Department of State) and then start calling NVC to find out if it's there, and if it's been assigned a case number.

Check out the monthly NVC topic run by Saylin - the people on there should have some good ideas for you.

Sorry it's such a long wait. It is supposed to be faster for spouses of USC's but it certainly hasn't been this year! Stay strong!

Its going to take a little while to move to NVC and for them to process everything. It took me just over 10 months for an interview. And spouses of US citizens are in a preference category but they fall under the normal processing times. IT is a lot faster than waiting for a brother/sister of usc over 21 now that could take 8 -10 years. You can email the NVC and get information there. You can find their info on the US DOS website.
