  1. 1. If you were Emperor of the World, would you allow convenience store owners to put up a "No Homosexuals" or "No Adulterers" sign on their door?

    • Sure. Homosexuals and adulterers can shop elsewhere. That's competition. That's the free market. That's the American way. Murka!
    • No. Absolutely not. They should not be allowed to discriminate against homosexuals or adulterers just like they can't discriminate against black people or Jews.
  2. 2. Followup to Q1 - What if the homosexual and/or adulterer in question was engaging in open displays of immoral behavior?

    • That does not change my answer to the question.
    • That does change my answer to the question. I will explain below.

What's interesting is when you look at businesses and companies over the years that have been owned or operated by people who consider themselves religious, often times have had to separate business morality from their own personal convictions. Marriott Hotels, for example, are owned and operated by a Mormon. You can find The Book of Mormon inside each room, yet they serve and sell alcoholic beverages. They know that it would be detrimental to their business if they didn't serve or sell alcoholic beverages.

Well that is the question I have no answer to. That is why I said it is a sticky slope.

On one hand, in a truly free country a person should be able to trade with whomever he sees fit.( ideally speaking)

However you are right in all of your arguments. Those things cannot be tolerated in a society either.

I don't know where those lines are or how you can define them

However we do see them. We have a very prominent local school run by Catholics that gives priority admission to Catholics. That seems logical enough, but under a broad umbrella that is discrimination.

The Congressional Black caucus excludes membership to Non-blacks

Why does this bother you so much? Are whites being held back because of this? To date, there's been one white person who even wanted to be admitted(and rightly so considering his job) and while I don't agree with it all, there's plenty of exclusion of black people when white people are concerned.

If you want the CBC to go away, work on the racism that's poisoning your side of the pond. Blacks want their own stuff because we feel like we'll never get a fair shake when white people are concerned.

Because you can't demand things of others you don't do yourself

As someone who hates discrimination so bad you should be the first to condemn it, but yet you justify it.

I don't justify it, I explained it. If you want the CBC gone, then let black people in the NC. Anything that is exclusive to blacks(one) is a direct result of being excluded from things white people didn't want them in.

I wish the CBC didn't exist. Why? Because it says that even now, we aren't equal. You got that idiot Farrakhan talking about separate black courts and UFO's. But, he has one point. Black people are not treated equal under the law. For a black youth to be murdered and his killer convicted of actually killing him, we need video evidence, at least 10 witnesses(hopefully they're white because if they're black, if one told a lie back in the 5ht grade, it's a wrap) and the youth can't have a single smidge on their record.

Apparently even Republicans who VOTED for this measure are now trying to pressure the Gov to veto it. laughing.gif Ah, these people.

I just read that, the top 3 that pushed it through are now feeling the fire.

Jen will not sign it. It was just another populist bill shoved down the throat of the people of Arizona by the Teaparty Bullies...
