I too answered yes and indicated that we met on Chery blossoms, though blossoms is considered to be just a dating site. Checking yes did nothing to slow our case at all.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Do you have someone to sign saying they are your broker? did they set up the meeting? a membership on a web site is not necessaryliy a marriage broker.. not if you met her in person on your own accord.

well the law says:::::::

Compliance with the International MarriageBroker Regulation Act (IMBRA).

If you met your fiancé or spouse through the services of aninternational marriage broker, you must notify USCIS ofthat fact by answering Question 19 on this form. The term“international marriage broker” means a corporation,partnership, business, individual, or other legal entity,whether or not organized under any law of the UnitedStates, that charges fees for providing dating, matrimonial,matchmaking services, or social referrals between UnitedStates citizens or nationals or aliens lawfully admitted tothe United States as lawful permanent residents andforeign national clients by providing personal contactinformation or otherwise facilitating communicationbetween individuals. For additional IMBRA requirements,see items 4 and 9 of these instructions.

Yes it applies, but no it won't cause you delays or additional background checks. Just be honest on the questions. This part of IMBRA is a little strange.

My fiancee and I met thru Cherry Blossoms. He paid for the membership but I didn't pay anything. He wrote a letter to CB and asked them if they're considered as marriage broker and they denied it. But since it says: "that charges fees for providing dating, matrimonial, matchmaking services" we said "YES" on that particular question. We're not sure if it's going to cause some delays but hopefully it won't. We're not worried about the background checking because my guy didn't get involved in anything illegal or crimes in the past.

Don't regret it that you admitted that you met your girl online because it's better to be honest in dealing with the immigration because it's your lifelong happiness on the line.

Goodluck on your journey! GOODLUCK TO ALL OF US!

Mae
