You don't send them the original of your marriage certificate, send them a copy. That's what we did when I applied for AOS.

You can send a photocopy of a certified copy (or the original that you receive back from the county clerk, or equivalent).

But the point is, why would you want to send photocopies when the originals are just like $1 for every extra duplicate. In my opinion, get as many copies as you want, these things easily get lost or ripped apart since they are just on regular print paper. They will all have the stamps and you can mail them out or use it anytime there is such a need. Way better than going though the stress of photocopying it again.

Yes you need the original. You can pick multiple copies at your local county office same day.

Not sure if you are required to send in original but my wife purchased 8 copies at the NSO in the Philippines. All original with stamps and certification for like 10 dollars total. It was well worth it. Just buy several "originals" when you go in.

God Bless

It was $7 per copy for us. Not as easy to get as many copies as we want.

Even at 7 dollars per copy I would have had my wife get 10. What's 70 dollars when it "could" mean the difference between an RFE or not? Let's not be too cheap.
