What if your visa is issued in sg but u still have to go back to the Philippines before heading to the US? Will there be any issue?

No you do not have to go back to the Phils, in fact I suggest you do not go back to the Philippines as you won't be allowed to exit the Philippines until you have completed CFO. Just fly to the USA then if you want to fly back after you have your green card there will be no issues.

No issue. You have until the date on the visa to enter the USA.

(FYI, I received my visa in Cambodia, travelled to Australia, back to Cambodia and then to the US over a 3 week period after following the issuance of my K1 visa).

i think if you return to the philippines, you may need to get the CFO sticker before you're allowed to board the plane. double check with the folks in the philippines forum to be sure.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

As per my experience, I went home for a month to the Phils before I came overe here in the US to spent time with my family. But take note, as Hank said, you have to attend the CFO seminar. You'll obtain a sticker and certificate that will be attached to your passport. These will be required at Immigration upon exit from the Phils.

Also, it is a first come first serve basis as they only accomodate limited slots. I was there around 3:30am...

God bless...!

Hi What is CFO? My fiance is staying in Singapore working and she is interviewing at US Embassy there. She is planning on going home to PI and I will meet her in PI to spend a few weeks with her family before coming to the states. Will that be a problem?

If you fiancee has a immigrant visa in her passport (K-1 is treated as an immigrant visa) she will not be allowed to exit the Philippines without obtaining the CFO sticker. Doesn't matter where she did her visa interview. Plan on attending CFO if she goes to the Philippines before heading to the States.

Ok I have been looking at flights back to the US. The airlines I am using has connecting flights from Singapore - Manila - California. I know what was said about the CFO sticker but what if your just flying to Philippines for connectiong flight. Will this be a hold up if there is no CFO sticker? I would think as long as you don't leave the terminals, you don't go back through customs/immigration. I don't remember the layout in Manila.

SIN-MNL-LAX is a rather uncommon route...usually transits are in HK or Narita or if you are flying one of the Chinese airlines, Beijing or Guangzhou. Anyway, it doesn't seem like it will be an issue: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/441939-do-i-need-to-attend-cfo-pre-departure-seminar-in-the-philippines/?p=6417433

Yeah its Philippine Airlines. That was cheapest. United Doesn't go to Manila but much more expensive in August.
