Wife and daughter here since July, handling harsh winter like champs, food not an issue they have everything they need. I made a lot if contacts at the temple ,wife says they are all rich, they didn't grow up like her. She's not interested in meeting friends there, struggling to find someone from surin with same background. Need help In Chicago.

I'll give you some advice on that. The first few Thais my wife met treated her very badly. One of them actually had her in tears. Somehow I think some of them have a "we were here first" attitude. Her being from Isaan probably didn't help either. She's from Si Saket, right next to Surin. Pretty much same thing at the temple. Eventually she met a few good friends. She works with Thais at her job everyday and most of them are decent. She's been here 5 years now, so she doesn't let those things bother her any longer.

She has friends she talks to on the phone or via Skype in different parts of the country as well. It'll get better over time. Not really advice I guess, but it seems to be a common thing.

PM me if you want, and the wife will ring her up.
