Consulate failed to provide a document at interview, and we've just received an RFE for that document from USCIS

Okay, I debated on which forum to start this thread - the I601 or here? The RFE letter we've been waiting 31 days for relating to my husband's I601 case just arrived and it's probably the lamest request.

Prior to my husband's interview, I told him that the consulate should provide him with a document stating that he's been found ineligible and under what section, and that he's eligible to file a waiver. Instead, they provided him with a document that says (and I'm paraphrasing) that after June 2012, anyone found ineligible will need to file an I601 at the Lockbox. There was no case information and no section cited.

I found this out when he was more than an hour and a half away from Casablanca. So now USCIS wants this document and it's the only thing, it would appear that's holding up the 601 case. Aside from calling and sending an email to see if we can't get anything else, does anyone have any other idea on how to get anything out of the Casablanca Consulate?

My options are to start a paper trail of trying to obtain the document and provide what we do have, which is the generic letter and a string of emails between my husband and myself asking if that was it and why didn't it have the case information, etc (back from June when he had his interview).

I'd be inclined to contact one of your congressional representatives and have an immigration staffer bat for you on this, too.

We got them involved a couple weeks ago because the RFE never arrived. I can call them back and ask them to switch focus on Monday.
