I have recently sent an I29F petition for fiance visa package to the USCIS Texas Service Center but I now feel I have done so prematurely. I need to have the entire package sent back to me so that I can add and modify certain documents but I only manage to receive automated voice machines when I dial the number listed on the USCIS website.

If anyone knows how I can actually speak to a human being rather than just one of their automated machines about getting my package sent back to me I would really appreciate the help.

This is a very tedious process.

Also--how long does it usually take the service center to receive the petition and cash the check? I sent this package on December 15 and have yet to see evidence of the check being cashed nor have I received the receipt in the mail. I mailed the Texas Service Center a letter requesting the petition returned to me but I would like to call and speak with a person so that I may describe the situation in detail.

Thank you in advance for your help as I'm desperate for information at this point.

May 15, 2006: She is put on temporary hold from her job and asks me if I could hold on for her in the event she didn't get the job back. I said "yes, of course" and she finally proclaimed her love to me and admitted she'd loved me since February.

September 25, 2006: I land in Manila airport and rush into my baby's arms for the first time. We were both surprised to realise we were NOT nervous.

If you sent your petition in and they don't have what they need, they will send you a request for further evidence (RFE).

In the meantime all you can do is wait. Once it's gone out to the post, it's gone. Sorry.

You should see your NOA1 (receipt) soon. Remember, the holidays are in your timeframe.

You can probably contact the information line on Wednesday, January 3rd. A lot of government offices were closed on Tuesday for former President Ford's funeral.

I would say that you probably don't need to do anything right now. The Texas office will either send you a Request for Further Evidence (RFE) or forward it to the California Service Center who will then contact you about missing information. This happens all the time, the only thing is that it further delays your processing time.

It is usually a good idea to make sure you have everything by double checking it before mailing. An effective double check it to prepare what you think is everything, then a day or two later look again. Once you are convinced you have sent everything then you only need to wait.

Use the guides for assistance, they do help.

Thanks for the quick responses and help! :)

So, there's no possible way to have them send the entire petition package back to me on request?

Why would you want your entire package back? If they can send you an RFE and keep the clock ticking while they wait for your reply, isn't that better?

I think you should call the USCIS main customer service center, then while in the automated sytem you can find part where you can change your adress, this requires a human being and you will then be connected. good luck!

Don't the I-129F K-1 petitions still go to the Chicago lockbox first? Do they go to the service centers now?
