I am asking for an older person 62, his mom died yesterday in the US

he has his 4 siblings there, only kept in touch with 2, he has 2 properties &

a current contract with a construction firm, he has no desire to move

abroad or he could have years ago, he wants to go to mothers funeral

in 12 days , what is his chances...he is a very bad stutterer. He has:

Titles and Tenants

death certificate of mom (coming)

letter from Doctor Coming

contract job letter from boss, he has to return and finish. (large construction)

'

Would this be enough for him to get a visa, he is unmarried

Can the email request expedite & his nephew accompanying him( sometimes no words come out)

Does he fall under disability to be accompanied

what exactly is the visitor visa process & cost

If email is sent Tues how long B4 he may be schedule (he has to express renew his Passport Monday)

Thanks for a response

The chances of him receiving a visa in less than 12 days are slim to none, sorry.

My dad got a visitors visa in less than 12 days. (Note: he doesn't have a New Zealand passport so it wasn't esta)

His aunt died, he set up an appointment with the embassy, showed up with all sorts of proof that he would be back. Almost didn't get it because my mother was also at the interview and she was grilled for not going with him. In the end he got it so it is possible.

However this situation is extremely different from my dad's so I'm not sure.

He could email the embassy and ask. I know that the one in Croatia does allow emergency appointments and they specifically list funerals as one of the reasons. If you tell us which country he's from maybe someone can tell you something more concrete. Good luck!

to get in,

he has to get an appointment.

to get an appointment, he has to pay the visa fee.

to get to be able to pay the visa fee, he has to fill out a DS-160 (this is an online form).

suggest you get on a PC and study over at

Okay, so they do have emergency appointments. I would go ahead and pay the fee and book an appointment asap. Then, send an email to the address provided in the link explaining why he needs an emergency appointment with the info they require (name, relationship, place and description of the situation, and contact information for the attending physician or funeral home). Also write that he has a terrible stutter and is very distraught and ask if they'd allow his nephew to come with him to the interview. The nephew can help him send the email (read write it for him and send it from his address, with his knowledge of course). Make sure he brings lots of proof of ties. I really hope things go well for him.

What was his Mothers status and what is his siblings status in the US.

Glad I was wrong; the US government can move swiftly on the extremely rare occasions they choose to.

Want to say thanks to all the answers, the young man got

the visa including his mom sister, he was in so much emotional

pain and the embassy saw it was real, he does not have a bank

acct. his job letter was all they took asked him no question and

had him pick up visa at DHL2 days, should be back on the 31st,

but he is asking to change his return date before. His mom was

buried this past Saturday.

Not everyone wants to stay in the USA I guess, but thanks all
