Visa after the interview

You know, this process is so stressful, lol. I mean we are very emotionally attached to the person we wish to spend the rest of our life with and it feels we are at the mercy/whims of government procedures, goodness. Liza had her interview Feb 3 2014 and was told she was approved, they took her passport and told her to wait to receive her visa. My concern is, that I read in many places that the visa will usually be mailed out the following week after the interview. Here it is 02/21/2014 18 days later. Does anyone know if this is unusual. I have called the Manila Embassy a few times but do not get any information, just to wait and check the web site. My mind goes to worry mode and I think what is wrong, I know I am older (40's) than Liza could that be a factor, did we miss something, etc, etc.? Could someone give me some advice on how to resolve?

Best regards,

JoeNLiza

If she was told got approved, there is nothing you should worried about. Age gap is not the problem specifically in the Philippines. There was a couple got approved with 36 years age gap. You would be just fine. She's probably under administrative processing which takes days to get her visa is issued.

AP is common in the Philippines. Do you track your case status on the CEAC website? The passport won't be sent out until it shows Issued.

When the DS160 was filled out did she say pick up at a 2Go locaton or delivery? Our interview was 4 Feb and we picked up at SM mall on 14 FEB. Another lady with us approved was delivered yesterday. When she left the last window at the Embassy they would have given her a form that says pick up or delivery and have the location annoted on that form. Everyone denied or needing futher processing left the Embassy with passport in hand..So the good news sounds like you are approved now to just get the VISA in hand. Check the State Depart website with her passport number. Right before delivery it will say something like received from Consulate awaiting delivery...something like that. Good luck and congratulations sounds like your approved!!

Hello, yes, we choose the 2go in Toledo City, though when my fiancee went there a week ago they stated they were only a ticket station. So she called 2go and was told to get the tracking number and they will help her get the visa when sent. She was not given a form for pick up, but they did take her passport and told her to wait in the mail for her visa and passport. I check the CEAC site for status everyday, lol. I pretty sure we are approved, it is just taking longer than I thought, and I am traveling back in three weeks so we can fly home together. :)

If they get your passport does that mean you are approved? Coz the co Didnt say anything to me after the interview. Anyway im applying for f2b visa and my petitioner is my mom. Pls reply, tia.

Hi, Yes, from what I've read in VJ in several places, if the embassy takes your passport you are approved. :)

Thank you, it is good to hear a couple with a much greater gap was approved. :) Congratulations on your wedding in the very near future. :)

Age rarely, if ever, is a factor. wink.png

They do not mail the package out, it is sent by 2GO delivery.

There is tracking info for Manila in my link below for 2GO and the embassy. You can track on the CEAC website the embassy website, once it shows the visa has been issued and shipped to 2GO you can give them a call. Until then... be patient.

It took 14 days for my wife to receive her visa.

Hi, have you gotten your visa yet? This might be a little different because I went through the US Consulate in Montreal, Canada (I am a Canadian citizen) but i had my interview Jan 29th 2014 and I am still waiting on my visa! It will have been 4 weeks since my interview on Wednesday. Did they tell you you were "approved"? If yes, they won't be undergoing administrative processing otherwise they wold've told you.. so you have nothing to worry about with the age difference. I was a bit worried because it's taken so long but all the checks have been done, I was approved so now it's just a matter of waiting for them to print it out, stamp it in the passport and send it out! They can take so long! What does your status day online?
