Hello, everyone, I just finished my medical exam today at St. Lukes in Ermita and I just want to share my experience.

I went yesterday morning, Thursday, as I have read somewhere that there will be no children on thursdays--something to do with their tuberculin test.

I arrived at the clinic at 8.30 AM, the guard checked my requirements and instructed me to go to the US Reception. There was no waiting for me here, I was immediately processed by the nice lady at the counter. She asked for my requirements, one photo ID with my name printed at the back, took a picture of me, had a fingerprint scan of my index finger...took me around 5 minutes for this, then she instructed me to go to the fifth floor to pay the fee at the cashier.

Cashier: there were two people ahead of me, took me around less than five minutes as i gave the exact payment. Then i was told to go to the laboratory.

Laboratory: i waited for like 15-or-so minutes to have my blood sample taken. I thought i needed to also pee in cup but the nurse told me that for US, urine sample is for pregnancy test only. Then i was told to go to xray.

Xray: waited for less than 15 minutes to have my chest xray taken.

Vital signs: waited for 10 minutes to have my blood pressure taken and another 10 minutes for height, weight and visual acuity.

Physical: yes, everyone will disrobe, i waited for maybe 20 minutes for this, but my actual physical exam was 10 minutes only. The doctor just asked a lot of medical related questions, then did the physical for like 3 minutes. Yah, that was fast.

Immunization Interview: maybe 15 minutes for this, 3 minutes for the actual interview, then the nice lady doctor advised me what shots i will be given and she said im done for the day and proceed to the check out counter.

Now here's a gossip i heard. I wasnt totally confident about my chest xray because i had a flu a week before and i was still coughing when i did my medical exam. So while in the queue for the immunization interview, the lady asked the guard what if she gets asked to do a sputum test, then the guard the told her she need not worry because she's already in line for the immunization interview. So thats the first sign of me not taking the sputum test.

Check out counter: 10 minutes waiting, then the lady asked me to come back the following day AT 7:30 AM. So here's the thing, sputum collection opens at 6:30 am, immunization opens at 7:30 am, so i told myself why would she tell me to go back at 7:30 the following day if not for my immunization?! Yehey.

Day 1 i was done around 10-ish...

Day2: arrived at the clinic 9:30 am. GuArd at the reception checked for my records and stamped IMMUNIZATION. i was glad, whew.

Went up to the immunization area, waited for 15 minutes then i got my shots. They advised me to go to the releasing area to wait for my results. Here, i waited for more than an hour to get my xray cd and immunization record. I was done around 11-ish.

So based on my experience, i dont see why you have to go there at 3 or 4 in the morning to queue. And why go on a monday or tuesday or wednesday when you can go on a thursday when theres no screaming children. But heres what ive heard, if you go early and maybe youre in the first 30 , you can do everything in a day.

The staff were very friendly and courteous. Especially the nurses at the immunization room.

I pay the visa fee earlier like 2 pm at the BPI bank n then after 4 hours or more than that i tried to register online to have my visa interview schedule n then it says "there are currently no appointments available" even the next year 2015. ?

Oh, you should try again tomorrow. Based on my experience, they said we can schedule after four hours, but mine took 24 hours really.

OMG. I don't think I can bear 6 shots in 1 day. Haha.

I know! My arms and thigh are hurting right now. I had two shots on each arm, then on my thigh.. You havent had your medical yet i suppose?

I wish it will just took 24hrs cuz tomorrow its weekend. Feels like i cant wait to have my interview schedule. Good luck! ☺️

When you try scheduling online, are still typing in your receipt number? Because i remember, when i tried scheduling after four hours, i was still putting in the receipt number. But after a day, it was automatic, they have your receipt number already.
