Applying or not for I-131?

I have already sent in my AOS package and I really shouldve asked this question before sending it.

Why have some of you mailed the I-131 with the AOS package and why did some of you choose not to do it?

I read somewhere on this site that if you have over stayed, you cant apply for the AP. How is that a reason to not apply for I-131?

I came to US on a TN visa but I quit my job in October 2013 so according to the way TN visa works, I was out of status the day I quit my job. Should I not have applied for the AP then because I took about 6 months to file (this week)... Really worried...

I didn't. I didn't have any need to leave the country in the assumed processing period.

My 765 was in my hands a few days before my interview. If i applied for the 131 it would probably have been on that card.

I do think that the processing times are so quick these days that the 131 and 765 are almost irrelevant, in most cases.

The I-765 and I-131 applications are a matter of choice. If you have intentions of traveling and working before the adjudication of your AOS, you file them. If you don't, you don't file them. The only 2 required to adjust status are I-130 and I-485.
