The evidence if basically the same, they kind of assume by proving the right to file in the UK you have proven you live together. Also in higher fraud countries you need more proof. The bit about the birth certificate or passport if to prove you are a USC ( to file CR1 ) As an LPR you copy your green card Are you using these instructions http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-130instr.pdf

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Nigeria, thank you for your answer!

Actually, here in London they don't ask to prove our life together to be entitled to apply DFC.

That is why I started wondering whether or not I need to do so (by providing evidence like joint account, property and so on).

Do you know if it is compulsory?

Yes, I'm using that instruction and, according to them , I should provide only the copy of my GC.

I know that I'm probably overthinking but, believe me, after I gathered all the papers, ready to be sent to the Uscis in London...it's like starting again!

oh, you must supply something on bonafide marriage evidence,

from the list of 6 types in the I-130 instructions, submitted with the I-130.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I see but I really don't know what I could provide..

I mean, we got married 4 days ago and of course we don't have any of the listed: children, co-mingling of financial resources, joint tenancy, etc.

The only thing we could get is an "affidavit affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the marital relationship".

What about "any other relevant documentationto establishthat there is an ongoin marital union"?

I really don't understand how come the Uscis in London does not require these kind of documents, making everything easier.

This is another reason for which I want to understand if I can follow the DFC path, although - as it is clear, now - there is no difference in term of lenght of the process.

I have all the papers ready for the Uscis in London and filing here would be much better for me although in one month I'll move to the US (having just finished all the studies I had started in London before getting the green card).

Daniele - you got married recently but this not supposed to stop you in providing proof of the honesty of your releationship (e.g. pictures during the whole relationship together, trip together, phone statement, messages, and so on)

they just want to be sure the relationship is real and not only reason to immigrate to US.

about proof of the bona fide of marital relationiship, well probably London could not ask during the i-130 but for sure they may ask at the interview.

The London DCF checklist from the embassy specifically states NOT to send relationship evidence (other than marriage cert). I do not know why this discrepancy, but that's how they do it.

They occasionally RFE DCF cases for affidavits of support from friends/family (but again, these items are not requested in the initial filing and I've yet to see a pattern to who they RFE in these cases - I suspect it may be random.).

I know not sending evidence seems inaccurate, despite the I-130 instructions, but you're welcome to read London's instructions for yourself. I did DCF and I've helped about a dozen folks through the same process here, none of which sent relationship evidence (at any stage, *even* the interview). They're just not interested.
