High blood pressure at the Medical Interview

I went for my medical this morning in Basil Street, it went really well, although my blood pressure was on the high side today.

I have a neurological condition that I've had treatment for in the past, in the last few days building up to my interveiw, we started worring about it, thinking I would fail the medical. Infact today I spoke to the very pleasant Doctor who was carrying out the exam, telling me there was no problem about this and I was perfectly eligible for the visa health-wise; but she found I had high blood pressure.

I had a somewhat stressful start to the morning and a 4 hour journey to Knightsbridge, drank a few coffees on the way, and I was pretty nervous when I went for the medical. I have to go and see my GP next week to get it checked again, and they will get in touch with the Knightsbridge Practice, to let them know if it's back to normal, or what medication they will administer to lower it.

All the staff told me not to worry about it, they told me a lot of the visa patients they see come in feeling nervous, and have a fast pulse/high blood pressure, and when they have it checked by their own Dr, it's perfectly fine. Fingers crossed it will be back to normal next week, so they can pass my details onto the embassey.

Even though this happened today, and it maybe another week or two before it's finalised, I am still very happy!

don't worry about it, these doctors know that there is a large portion of the population who also have blood pressure and haven't got a clue, it is far more common than one thinks.

I have had it for a few years now and take medication to keep it under control, even though I eat what I am supposed to and try to get the exercise, trouble is, I do like the odd bacardi and coke :whistle:

Good luck to you with the rest of the process

I am glad that this part is over for you as well! Chris had his on the 29th..he also had slightly higher BP but the Dr. said it was probably due to being slightly anxious about the medical and how important all this is.

It is good to being closer to the end!!

Continued success. Perhaps we will be having the interview very close to eachother!

We maybe very close to each other. Everyday when I return home from work, I await finding Packet 4. I hope it will be this week!

Good luck!
