I put in a service request a few days ago and used Dec 1 as the date. And in the last action taken I wrote, spoke to congressperson who said I can put a request after 5 months. Could be worth a shot, not sure which combination of things worked for me. but I made a lot of noise.

I see our timelines are quite similar! I wonder if that would work for me, but I'm gonna wait and see what my Congressman says first. hopefully he helps me out! That's awesome, though! CONGRATS!!!!

So do I get notified of the other steps, such as when it gets to the NVC and so forth via the same website?

And how long before I can call the NVC to find out LDN number?

If any folks are thinking about writing to their Congressman or Senator, there was a post last year with some helpful information:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/421608-a-guide-to-writing-your-elected-representatives-about-the-i-129f-slowdown-at-the-csc/

from when the exact same thing was going on last year at CSC, and then Vermont got even slower.

I believe this is one of the reasons they opened the TSC to K-1 processing. Enough complaints were made and the workloads were evened out. Once TSC got ramped up and trained, they were working really quickly. Unfortunately, the TSC slowdown then occurred due to expedites for the typhoon (now apparently expired) and because of the shaming the NY Times gave USCIS regarding I-130 spouse visas in February (taking 18+months!), all on top of Obama's DACA processing. It looks like K-1s have fallen to the bottom of the heap. Some petitions are getting processed, but nothing like the efficiency shown at the end of last year.

If you search VJ you can find some sample letters to your congressmen like this one:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/409500-senators-response-about-uscis/

I like some of the wording and may use it myself after I reach the 5 month mark in a few weeks, if things don't look like they're finally ticking along. It depresses me to hear more talk on the news about DACA.

Hello all,

I did try and submit an enquiry for my case NOA1 was Jan 21st which makes it 5 months today, but the system rejected it saying its within the processing times.

Did anyone else get this too for their timelines? Seems like a discrepancy

They claim that they are behind to Dec 3rd so you cant place a request unless your NOA1 is before that. I just put Dec 1 in the date and placed the request anyway.

Thanks but they may get annoyed that someone is trying to override their system. I was looking at a posting from last year about writing our 'elected' representatives and the information there posted was mind boggling about 'juggling' of dates etc.....we are USC's are really screwed in this niche arena...wow

Hi! Yes, I tried to submit an inquiry both on the website as well as on the phone with USCIS. Mine is approaching the 6 month point (July 9th). They tell you it's within processing times, because on one part of the website (where the inquiry is made) it says to wait 6 months before you submit an inquiry but yet on the processing times chart, it says they process these visas in 5 months, lol. I'm going to wait until July 9th and try again and see. I already submitted a letter to my Congressman.

60 days? I really hope it doesn't take that long, I guess I'll call my Senator's office back to see if they've had any luck.

So mad. Good to know that the service request the Tier 1 Officer made on my behalf was legit I guess.

You can call the NVC to get a case number but I would give it 10-15 days. The case has to leave the service center, then be received by NVC, then processed into their systems. When you call if it is not there they will tell you 30-45 days. Once you get the case number you can track the progress through the CEAC website. Just know that when you call the NVC it is sometimes a really really long wait. Definitely longer than USCIS, but the employees seemed much more pleasant. When I called and they had finally received my case, the rep was so excited with me, for me! It was awesome! Congrats!

Interview Scheduled: 6-24-2014 SO EXCITED!!!!!!!! :dancing::star:

Thanks for the info! So the USCIS wont sent me any more updates. Just the letter that will come in the mail. I was so excited to finally get the NOA2, I was starting to loose hope. And when I saw the email I though, oh another status update. I didn't believe it.

You're welcome. It should be just the letter in the mail. Yes I understand the shock! My online stuff still never update on USCIS.... it still shows just ARN being changed so when I got my NOA2 letter in the mail I was blown away! Now San Jose has our case and we have an appointment for our interview on Tuesday! This IS real life!

So I am going to send a message to all of the depressed folks who have either crossed the five months or are going to cross the five month mark with no development. Lets no lose hope, just focus at the end result. Several times I want to give up. We just crossed our five months and I am sad, but I wont lose hope yet.

I just visited her for a week in India and it was amazing till the moment she dropped me at the airport. It becomes worse every time we have to say goodbye to each other and now we live off the pictures she took of every moment. Its horrible to come to work and not go back home to someone who loves you. I know it sucks, but I am not going to give up and neither should any of us.

I have contacted the senator and congressman and no progress yet. Like others I also got the whole "Dec 3rd" cr*p. It isn't fair, but what else do we do now. Lets just pray for no further delays. God speed to those who got it and lets be the force to others.

I started coming to this forum to find hope and I did get some in the beginning, but then started getting upset as I didn't see any development. That was my mistake, we here are the January family and we stick for each other. Lets take a moment and say kudos to all of us who have already endured 5 months plus all the time before we had to leave our loved months. Lets take a moment to appreciate the tenacity and patience. Remember the longer end of the road is over, we have endured for so long, we can stick it out now to the end. Giving up is not an option!

Nice Speech. we have very similar timelines. Where is your fiance in india? Mine is in gujarat.

You're right in encouraging people not to give up hope. I take a look at the bright side (and yes, there are many bright sides).

We have been away from our significant other for a long time, but just think about all the time you will spend together once this is over.

Also, this is just a 7-9 month wait. In the grand scheme of things, its a small amount of time. You may spend 60-70 years together and one day look back and say it was a short wait.

also, think about the married people who have to wait longer in some cases. My cousin has been waiting for 2 years.

Finally, if you want to do stuff in the mean time, just gather paper work and prep the interview portfolio. This will help you to stay active in the process and help not to cause further delays.
