i have also thought the I-130s are one of the main reasons for the delay at TSC. but it was hard to make that case because the USCIS dashboard shows that CSC is also completing a good number of I-130s...more than TSC in recent months (although CSC does not have any "receipts" in recent months...so maybe they just adjudicate transfers? idk).

TSC has close to 35,000 pending I-130 petitions as of March. 5x the amount of I-129Fs.

Hmmm.... After reading this site for a while, I finally "officially" joined, I gave myself over 10 months to do this entire process before my wedding ceremony. She is supposed to be coming to the US with me at the end of Oct after the ceremony in Tokyo to get legally married here.... I'm trying to stay optimistic that this will all happen in time.

I contacted my congressman's office, who contacted the Congressional Liaison at the USCIS. This is the response from them, but I removed the liaison's name as well as my full name:

Thank you for your Wednesday, May 28, 2014, email on behalf of your constituent, ____________, regarding his pending Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé.

USCIS records indicate the file has been pending here at the Texas Service Center since January 9, 2014. I have sent an email to the supervisor of that form type to have the petition pulled and provided to an officer for review. Please advise your constituent to allow 30-45 days for decision or notice of further action.

Thank you for your inquiry and I hope we may be of service in the future.

Respectfully,

Even then it still will be 6 - 6.5 months if they process it in the time stated in the email. It is what it is, but as long as it's done by very early July, I think I'll be fine. Fingers crossed!!

That confused me! I had to map it out in my head :content:

While it's frustrating that I-129F's are EXTREMELY backlogged at TSC. I am really glad we have some sort of information from the inside. It makes sense that they are prioritizing I-130's considering they are for immediate relatives. BUT, with that being said, I STILL think the East coast petitions should be equally dispersed between TSC and CSC so it's not an 8,000 vs 4,000 backlog  thus equalizing the processing times of 2 months vs 6-7 months.

I am eager to see the data next week. I'm going to update my little spread sheet in my signature that has TSC vs CSC

Like we (the younger generations) don't even SPEAK to that part of the family, I was really surprised that he helped me. Kudos to my great aunt (my grandfather's older sister, that's an easy one!), though I don't even know why she would talk about my situation with them...I guess it worked out in the end!
