Well here is some good news! I just went to USCIS processing times on their website and selected the TSC. It still says 5 months! I was really expecting to see it stretched out further based off of some of the things I have read.

It has been listing 5 months for a while and at the top of the page it would say a recent date for an update date but if you looked above the actual chart below it would say "as of February 28th". Now it says

Field Office Processing Dates for Texas Service Center as of: March 31, 2014

So at least we know this is more current!

Lets take any positive thoughts we can get, guys.

i'm pretty sure that the processing center is determined by your state of residence. so i don't think waiting until february would have changed your outcome. i have seen people talk about transfers from TSC to CSC - but i believe that is due to people incorrectly entering transfers on their timeline...not an actual transfer of petitions from one service center to the other.

but yes...4 months down hopefully one (or two) more to go! :)

The processing time of 5 months seems to be secure. If it's anything like the UK, the managers are under pressure to meet deadlines / expectations from senior department managers and will employ tactics to remain 'under the radar' when it comes to meeting these published deadlines. Although I want my approval now just like us all, the processing time is still 5 months and that's how long I will wait patiently before throwing my toys out of my pram.

I don't remember exactly what reasoning the guy gave me. He was pretty rude the whole call and I had worked a 12 hour shift the night before (and my fiance had woken me up 3 hours into my sleep with the news) and I only really retained the fact that he was adamant that an expedite due to job loss was inappropriate for our situation (being a k1). I hope you get a better response! It sounds like you should be hearing from them soon. Isn't it 5 days?

Well, please keep me posted on how yours goes. I just keep thinking that any day now we will be approved. He had been staying with his family the past week to save money on food but in a couple weeks his rent will be due again and of course he will need to eat daily. 8 1/2 months is a long time! That is awful. I'm leaving to see my fiance in less than two weeks so I am definitely hoping for the approval by then.

I ll let u know but try one more time. Call them again. Explain them that ur fiance is not able to take care of his rent and buy food.. I know the feeling. Before lose my job i was on my own making money take care of myself and now i live with my mother and her annoying husband .... Sucks... Especially when they kick u out the house.
