Congrats to all who are entering, I cant wait to post the day she is approved an enters. I have some news though today. After waiting for about 35 minutes, I got an agent at the NVC and they gave us our case number. File hasn't left for India yet, hopefully next week. Can she now submit the DS-160 or is there something else we shall be doing. Any advise is helpful. Thanks and congrats to all again.

That will always happen, hang up and redial. Took me about 12 attempts today. It's easier with a land line

There really isn't that much left to do. I contacted some removalists here and asked about transporting the boxes from Australia to the US, and I am really quite happy with the quote that they gave me - it is only marginally more than it cost me to move a couple of suburbs over about 6 months ago. I feel like I got ripped off then! Apparently my passport is out for delivery now, so I should have that in my hot little hands by this afternoon, and then I'll go book my flight for next week, and confirm with the removalists. Then it's just cancelling a bunch of stuff - phone, internet, etc (And as I was typing this, the courier delivered my passport, yay!) I am just way too excited now!

Yep! Flight is booked for Wednesday, 1st October. Removalists are coming to pack/pick up the things I want to take with me on Tuesday. Only 3 days to go. My mum got really upset yesterday, it has only just sunk in for her. I'm both sad to leave and excited.

hello everyone. i returned from cuba today after being there for my fiance's interview this week. our interview result was administrative review due to missing documents. it was frustrating since i was so confident in our preparation of the documents and relationship evidence.

in truth, we had everything listed here on VJ - but the consulate asked to see court documents for an item appearing on my fiance's police report. the infraction happened when he was 17 but he was 18 when he went to court (which is the age listed on the police report) so they are requiring that my fiance provide the full court sentencing. it is not a major infraction and i do not expect it to prevent the approval of his visa. it's just going to take an extra week or two to obtain the document and travel back to the consulate to give it to them.

Guys I am confused with the following message. I checked our case and it says it's "in transit", does that mean it's in its way to the consulate. That's only logical, but help me confirm. Second it says the interview date has been scheduled by the NVC, what does that mean. I thought we fill out the ds260 and then schedule the interview?. If they did, we have no notification of what date etc? Please advise guys. Thanks

Yes it means its on its way to the Embassy. Once it reaches the Embassy, it will say Ready.

Go on https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ and enter your case number. You can get the case # by calling the NVC. Let me know if this works. Thanks

Yes, in transit is on its way to the consulate, and no worries about the interview thing, mine said that for 2 weeks, even though I didn't have the interview date yet It's a standard message. The interview date will come after you do DS-160 and send back package 3.

Hello, contact the consulate as soon as status shows "Ready" (Meaning your case is at the consulate) They will confirm country specific instructions on how to proceed for interview appt and medical. Best luck!

Oh my God Im so happy for you things have moved so fast .You need to contact your embassy for further questions .you must receive packet 3 and 4 also do your medical exams before the interview.you need to send your fiancé the affidavit of support and the document she need.
