Absolutely. Keep checking your status. They should notify you again when they've shipped it to NVC (took ours 3 days, but others have said a week or 2, depends on where yours is in the pile). After you hear about the shipping, give it 7-10 days and start calling NVC to make sure they have it and to get your new case number. Call either early (7am) or late (10pm) and expect to be on hold for about 45 minutes for a very short conversation.

Once you have your case number, you can go ahead an fill out DS-160 and schedule medical appointment. If you haven't gotten pcc yet, start that now. It's a good time to gather all your documents for the interview as well!

I thought you have to wait until the petition goes to the Embassy, and they send/email the packet before one schedules the medical? We are in administrative processing at NVC (9 days and counting)...I cannot imagine WHAT they are processing...neither of us has been married, no criminal, no children....the application was just photos, boarding passes, letters of intent and letters from relatives/friends/photos....sigh....

As long as your case says "Ready," in the CEAC website, they're ready to start accepting paperwork. Our case has been at the consulate with no email or word from them for almost 2 weeks. If you have the case number, you can fill out DS-160 at the very least. A lot of people push forward without word from the consulate. It makes things go faster. Personally, we're waiting for our police certificate, then we'll schedule medical.

Is PCC the police certificate? In Punjab she gets a lot of push back, not sure if she can request it till she has submitted the DS-160 or got the case number. Tell me if I am wrong. Thanks for the info, also you mean I should keep checking my case status online at USCIS case check link to see when its shipped to NVC? Thanks

You can do DS-160 right way and conform and print it while you receive NOA3. And do body check in the same time. You will have new case number when your case was shipped to NVC and check it on this website:https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

DS-160 website: https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx You have to completed it,print it and send it to United States's embassy in your country.

Good luck for you!
