Hey January fillers! My fiance used to live in another country and we have provided her current address at the time. She moved back home, and NVC sent the case the the embassy where she doesn't live anymore. I requested a transfer and the case is now received by the new embassy, and they haven't contacted us yet. How long will it take for them to contact us? Also, they still have her old address on file. Should I email them and ask them to send the packet to the new address? or just wait for them to contact me? I have no idea what the next step would be.

Its 242 days since we got our NOA1. still waiting on NOA2. My fiance raised an SR and the response is as below.

"Our records show that your Form I-129F is currently pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. We apologize for the delay."

Did any one get this kind of response. not sure what exactly is going on.

Heights of frustration!!!

Hello! Call the consulate!

As soon as the website https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ showed our case was ready I called the consulate to confirmed they had it and asked for instructions (I already knew what was next thanks to VJ, but I wanted them to confirm)

Also confirm which address they have on file for the petitioner in my case there was a small mistake in my address, but they were able to fix and updated while I was on the phone with them. Don't feel like you have to sit and wait :clock:

Best luck!!! We are almost there

Hello, It maybe a good idea to message Masenko , He has a beneficiary from India and is experience a delay too. Have you been able to talk to them on the phone to confirm what is pending? I have read in most cases its security checks.

ps Please fill your timeline! And keep us posted on NOA2, hopefully you will get it very soon. :D

Hey guys, quick question. Is it ok to go ahead and pay the visa fee before it goes up on the 12th? I haven't heard from the consulate yet but I have our case number and our status is "Ready" on ceac website. Thoughts?

Hello!

I think this information will answer your question. :D

Important Notice - New Application Fees: Nonimmigrant and immigrant visa application fees for certain visa categories will change on September 12, 2014. All visa applicants must pay the fee amounts in effect on the day they pay, with the exception of Immigrant Visa application processing fees paid domestically to the National Visa Center (NVC), which will be effective as of the date of billing.

Fees that will decrease are not refundable. If you paid a visa fee before September 12, 2014 and that fee decreased, we cannot give you a refund.

Fees that will increase (nonimmigrant fees only): Visa fees paid will be accepted 90 days after the new fees go into effect, as follows:

  • If you paid your visa fee before September 12, 2014, and your visa interview is on or before December 11, 2014, you do not have to pay the difference between the new and old fee amounts.
  • If you paid your visa fee before September 12, 2014, and your visa interview is on or after December 12, 2014, you will be required to pay the difference between the old and new fee amounts – no exceptions.

Was your case received by the consulate? You can give them a call and confirm and ask for instructions on next steps, but you should be fine filling out DS160 and scheduling interview appointment.

I saw this posted on another forum. My question is even though I haven't heard from my consulate, can I just go ahead and pay it? I'd like to save $25 if I can :P We will most likely have our interview before December 11. I am thinking I can probably just pay it now but just wanted to know if there's any issue with paying before we get the packet 3 or whatever we get from the consulate.

Thanks though.
