Awesome to see another approval!

I just got off the phone with NVC. Almost fell asleep waiting! I have our new case number and she said it was shipped today. Does my case appear in the CEAC system when it reaches the embassy?

you should be able to track your case in the CEAC system from the NVC to the embassy (the CEAC system will update from "At NVC" to "In Transit" to"Ready"). it may take a few days for your case number to be updated in the system though. so if you get an error message - keep trying until it works. :) also, make sure you enter your case number in the "Immigrant" section on the CEAC website.

Hi all,

Couple of questions......

Anybody approved around the 18th August got their NVC Case#? I called NVC when they opened today but nothing yet..................

Is the only way to get the case number before reaching the correct consulate is call the NVC?

I am pretty sure I know the answer to the second question but just wanted to make sure I am not missing anything.

Best regards

Richard

Hi Richard,

I am sure they will have your case soon, just give them a couple of days (Call them every day if that helps you feel less anxious) We got NOA2 Jul 25, it was shipped from TSC to NVC Jul 31, and when we called them Aug 13th they provided our case number and sent it to the consulate the next day.

Calling is the fastest way to get the case number, my fiancé just received the physical letter in the mail this week. When you get them on the phone ask them for Invoice # and Beneficiary ID# as well.

Rgds,

Philippians 4: 6-7. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

What do you mean by doing packet 3 and 4 stuff online? Just filling out the forms and sending them back? Is there anything you can do online before you receive packet 3 to speed up the process? My fiance has done the medical already, got his police cert and has all the other forms ready for the interview, so if there's anything else we can do we definitely will.

Ok so there really aren't "packets" per se. You'll get letters from the embassy and NVC with instructions, but there really isn't like a packet of information you receive - we're in the digital age hehe

You will get a letter from NVC telling you to have your fiance fill out the DS-160 on the ceac website for themselves and whomever else (children) are accompanying them. So go have your fiance fill out the DS-160, get ALL forms and paperwork you need for the interview, also, if your country allows it, have your fiance go get their medical (in the UK at least you can do this as soon as you have your NVC #).

So my fiance went and got his medical done as soon as he got his NVC number, and as of a week ago everything has been filled out. CEAC has our status updated as of yesterday, hoping that means they've gotten his medical information and have generated a letter with his appointment date.

YES! You have to call NVC. 603-334-0700. It's best to call later in the evening (10-12) or first thing in the morning (7-9). It may take you 45-60+ minutes of being on hold to get someone, and it also may take you several (my record was 18) tries to get through. By the time you get a letter from NVC with your case number it'll already be at the London embassy! Actually - my fiance got his letter from the embassy a day after I got the letter from NVC. Go figure :)

But seriously, get that LND number and go get your medical! My fiance didn't have any issues with Knightsbridge - they were actually able to get him an appointment within a few days :)

Sounds like we've done most of that. He was able to do his medical before we even received NOA2 and he has already collected the results, has his police cert, filled out DS-160 and I've already sent him the paperwork he needs from my end (Some evidence, I-134 and all that jazz). Seems like we have pretty much everything ready to go. The latest update after I just got off of the phone with NVC is that our case number was assigned yesterday, they apparently had his surname wrong in the system (O'Keefe instead of O'Keeffe) and the case is in AP. I'm really hoping this just means the normal AP all cases go through, but the name being spelled wrong makes me very worried.

I am the petitioner.

There is also the readiness form you have to submit (I can't remember the number of it). It basically tells the embassy that you have EVERYTHING ready to go. Make sure you've got that one too and you're golden!
