I finally got a case # from NVC. Our NOA2 was received on July 31st, and they sent the case to NVC on August 7th, and NVC assigned a case number on August 18th (no notification, I called them). Our case # starts with KLL, that's I believe Kuala Lumpur. Anyone has any experience with this embassy?

And congrats on new approvals!

How do you know what date they sent the case to NVC? I'm trying to figure out when to call to get my NVC case number.

Congrats! I was watching your timeline. It's so strange and frustrating when folks who filed after you get approved before you for no apparent reason. I hope everyone hears something soon!

I would wait 2-3 weeks from the date USCIS shows that they sent you case to NVC to call. When you call NVC (and get through), they'll tell you when they got your case and case #.

The USCIS will send you a notification that says: "On ____________, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."

Some people don't get notifications for some reason, though, so you can always use the "check my case status" feature and it should have updated when they sent it. My NOA2 date is the same as yours and it was sent to the NVC yesterday, so I'm sure yours will be sent off soon, too.

09/08/14 - Packet 3 Returned

09/11/14 - Packet 4 Received

09/22/14 - Interview Date - APPROVED!

10/22/14 - POE (Dublin)

It takes 2-3 weeks? I guess they may get the packet quickly but have stacks to go through to assign the case numbers. Seriously, in this computerized day and age you'd think they could just automate that a bit.

Of course, this whole process is a huge test of patience. I keep seeing threads where folks couldn't wait and just came over on VWP and got married and applied for AOS. Had I known....but I'm just a sheep.

After my NOA2 was approved, I got another text notification (probably 2 weeks later) that our case was sent to NVC. Then I called NVC few days later, they asked for my USCIS case number, and gave me the NVC # and the date it was recieved. No email notification or mail.

Feb 13th, 2015 - EAD card in production... waiting to get it in hand

Feb 20th, 2015 - EAD card produced and mailed... now should be waiting to get it in hand...expecting it in a day or so.

Feb 24th, 2015 - EAD Card in hand with new married name!!!

Yea I'm still the same :( By the way, two weeks ago my case was updated with the same old status but different date "On August 7, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F"

Did that happen to you too ?
