I just got a text from uscis and I got an rfe... I never ever ever thought I would be asked for more evidence.

Does anyone know if they mailed it today and I received in Monday and I mailed whatever it is back on Tuesday how long I can possibly expect this whole process to drag on? I am so incredibly furious right now. What do RFEs usually ask for?

Well, at least you're out of the never-ending pit of security checks!

I've been tracking other case numbers around me, those that received RFE's at the end of July are now being processed again once evidence was received This comes up on their case case status: "Request for Evidence Response Review".

So maybe 2-3 weeks? Who knows on how long it took them to send evidence back, so might be quicker if you send it off asap!

I think it should say either "initial" or "additional" evidence on your case status? I think initial is like signatures, divorce cert, letter of intent etc. Additional is probably extra photos, chats etc. Just taking a guess on that though!

Just had a thought too, if it's "initial evidence" required, you could get your fiancé to re-print the letters of intent/G325a/passport photo or anything else he/she signed and mail it to you now?

Might take a few days for your RFE to get to you, so you won't have to worry about waiting around for signed documents to arrive from New Zealand after.

We got this ….

On August 16, 2014, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

A request for evidence is made when an application/petition is lacking required documentation/evidence (initial evidence) or the officer needs more documentation/evidence (additional evidence) to determine an applicant's eligibility for the benefit sought. We may send you a request for evidence at any stage of our review. The request will indicate what evidence or information is needed for us to fully evaluate your application or petition. The notice will explain where to send the evidence and will give the deadline for your response. Your application or petition will be held in suspense during that time. If you receive a request for evidence and have questions about what you need to submit, you may call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

So i don't know what to expect. I am 100000% positive I sent in everything, but who knows. I have everything scanned on my computer because when we made the initial packet, i made a copy of the whole thing and scanned everything. only thing I would need is passport photos. So will wait and see. And I know we had 2 photos each.

I am happy someone touched our case, but never thought this would happen to us!

Urgh, that stinks! But ya, someone touched your case! yay!

I've seen cases before where stuff just got lost, that might be the issue! or it'll be something really stupidly small.

I have a pack of stuff with wet signatures by the door in case we get an RFE and they need something with my signature. I don't know whether they'd accept a copy if that was the issue?

Wait and see I guess :-) Fingers crossed for you!!

I got the same, I've still think it's good, because once you send what they need it will be processed in a week or so. If you look at other people that have received RFEs they receive the NOA2 within a week or so after submitting the evidence. They do say that it can take up to 60 days though, but I highly doubt it.

It's our 223 days...I'm so tired of this process...this is a complete joke....

I decided to go visit my fiance...I need strenght to continue on this process....I hope there isn't any problem...I'm kinda nervous...what if screws up my k1 visa and all this wait goes down to the drain...

My fiance called USCIS last week and they said they r backlogged and currently processing dec 31st cases...kind of hard to believe though, so many february filers being approved...

senator said they filled a petition but had no answers yet...

I feel lost and hopeless..don't know what else I should do...

I wonder what was the longest a person waited for their NOA2..

You guys! Our packet is officially in transit according to CEAC!!! Did not expect things to move so fast. That is all. I'm really excited. I hope everyone else is doing ok :)

Congrats!!! Do you know what they need from you in this packet? My NOA2 is approved, and my case was sent to NVC 2 weeks ago. I'm going to visit my fiance in next two weeks, and I want to take/prepare all the paper works she'll need. Thanks!

Here is a list of all the things required in packet 3 from the DoS website. The only things you should have to provide are: a new letter of intent to marry, any evidence of the relationship you have, affidavit of support and a copy of your NOA2. Hope this helps!

Hey thank you so much! May I ask where did you find this? The last item, Payment of Fees, is unclear.

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks a bunch!

I got it from this link: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/types/family/fiance-k-1.html

However, if your consulate is in Armenia, this link from VJ may have more country-specific information: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Armenia&cty=Yerevan

I cannot find info for the exact fee amount for the K-1 interview in Armenia, but I'm sure that info will be included in your packet 3. Additionally, you can probably also call and ask what the fee schedule is.

Thank you again. I'm not sure where our consulate is yet. It's probably in Abu Dhabi. For some reason, Visajourney displays Armenia for us lol
