I got my case's new number from NVC. So I can follow it on my location embassy's website. I hope will receive NOA3 soon.

There is no NOA3. NOA1 is your first I-797 notice of action on your petitions receipt, NOA2 is your second I-797 notice of action on your petitions approval.

Packet 3 is an email from the embassy requesting documents, packet 4 is confirmation of your appointment.

05-18-2022: Filed N-400 online. Received online NOA and Biometrics re-use.

06-03-2022: Interview scheduled (online notice).

06-10-2022: Interview letter received via USPS.

07-11-2022: Naturalization Interview

I know it isn't NOA3. Just got a new number for my case. My local consulate will send a courier to me then I will send back confirmation letter DS-160's to them. The courier is NOA3. NOA4 is they send an email to me and my fiance then I can appointment interview.

You keep using words and languages on the site that don't exist, people read these forums for help and writing NOA3 indicates that USCIS sends applicants a 3rd notice of assessment. The reason why it's packet 3 & 4 is because it's not with USCIS anymore. I wasn't trying to give you a hard time, I was politely correcting you so that other users don't get confused.

196 days today and still nothing. I has so much confidence this would be approved by now (considering we are using an immigration attorney) that my spirits are now very hard to keep up.

I know I am not the only January filler that is still waiting but It's heartbreaking to see February and March people going through and what's worse some are from the UK too.

My USC called the USCIS and they are just finishing up on December 31st which is what confirmed and said and not much more. I have tried the Congressman, Senator, putting in a E-Request all with no result and am now just totally fed up.................................

Help!!!

Yup! Also a Brit and 191 days!

The only response we can get is pending security checks - I'm not sure what that means, and it seems to be random as to who gets held up on them.

For my case: No previous marriages, no children involved, no criminals linked to our names, visited the US 7 or 8 times in the last 2yrs, fiancé in steady job, no criminal background, maybe it's because my brother is an American citizen (could be why?). I have an SSN, and bank acc in the US, previous employers there - but many applications have already been approved with that criteria. I wouldn't think it's about the beneficiary country - I mean the UK, really? The FBI are concerned? That doesn't make sense, although we do have our fair share of lunatics.

Any common ground? haha!

For me as the UK Citizen.

Never been married (USC been married and divorced), no children (my USC has a 3 year old with no custody issues), no criminal record (USC has a DUI some years ago), been to the USA twice last year both for 89 days at a time. USC has been here twice this year. I got turned around in Phily in January this year and told I needed a visa to return as I was spending too much time in the USA. That's about the sum total of it......

Well it seems like we're pretty normal, upstanding citizens then! And I literally have no clue as to what holds USCIS or the FBI (whoever checks) up on some cases.

We're all getting really tired, but when you get that NOA2 it's going to be the best feeling in the World :-)

The best things come to those who wait!!! I think Visajourneyers and others waiting know that better than most.

who else here has their noa1 around january 17 and still hasn't gotten their noa2? I have been searching around receipt numbers and seems like many of us are still waiting in a huge chunk, with a whole lot of RFEs. I was just wondering if anyone else has contacted congressmen/senators and what they have been told. I have been in security check for over 50 days now so I am wondering what is going on! The only thing I can think of is all our files are on a desk and have not been touched bc the person has gone on vacation! Because there have been no updates since August 5

My fiance is an Irish citizen and I initially worried about him having an SSN, employment history and a bank account over here, as he was just here on a J-1 and I thought that would stall background checks. We are the same: no marriages, no children, no criminal history and he visited the U.S. 3 times in the last 2 years. Also, he was even still here in the U.S. when I submitted the petition, so that also worried me as well, but we were still approved fairly quickly comparatively. I know U.K. and Ireland are separate entities, but they are similar in many respects. Doesn't sound like anything should be holding you up. I've heard that if either of you have similar names to known criminials, it could cause a hit or red flag on your background check, which is what could spawn these "pending background check" case statuses that take longer to clear and is totally out of your control. :(

I also know that many people from automatic red flag countries like Pakistan and Russia have issues with this, but that obviously shouldn't be the case with you guys from UK. Just seems so random. I hope you guys hear something very soon!!

I am the petitioner.

It really doesn't make any sense and I'm so glad to hear you didn't have any issues with SSN, bank accounts etc.

It's funny, I was telling someone about this the other day that the only criminal linked to my name is some old guy who beat up a man outside a pub! Not sure whether that warrants extra FBI checks hahaha. I don't know of any criminals which are linked to both of our names, but a database could tell a different story. My fiancé is Italian-American, so I originally thought maybe there's a link to the Mafia!! Sounds so far fetched, but you never know!

Still, I'll keep myself busy, stay positive and when this is all over I'll tell everyone we couldn't get a visa for x months because some old guy with my surname decided to have a drunken punch up one Friday night in 2005!

Thanks so much and best of luck to you and your fiance! Keep us in the loop along your journey!!! :-)
