As this was my 'original' thread before our NOA2 and subsequently moving onto the UK forum, I thought I'd let you know I was approved today.

Best regards

Rich

Congratulations! That's awesome :D

Last communication i got was that the visa had left NVC, that was back in the beginning of August. My Fiance filed DS 160, and we waited and waited for packet 3 to arrive. i finally emailed the US consulate in Sydney only to hear back that packet 3 supposedly had been emailed to me ( the petitioner) back in Aug with an interview date for Sept that had come and gone. Total shock and horror ensued at that news. My fiance now has another interview date set for next week, but since he never got packet 3 with plenty of time and instructions he will be heading off to interview w/o his police clearance complete. The consulate had a correct email for me, but i never received anything, and besides we always thought that my fiance would get the instructions, not me.

Moral of the story, if you think there is a problem be proactive and contact the embassy or consulate. The worst they can tell you is to wait.

So VJ people, fingers crossed his interview is on 10/14/14.

Good luck Kirsten! I bet it'll go great :)

Hey I think am facing a problem here ! Please help if u know any thing about that ...

I start to collect the document for the interview everything is going oky! Only the police clearance from India I was thr for 2 years so defiantly I need one !! :(

And this what I found ..

http://travel.state.gov/visa/reciprocity/Country Folder/I/India.htm

POLICE RECORD

Indian Police Clearance Certificates should be obtained as follows:

All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police certificates from the local Passport Office. These are usually more dependable than those obtained at a local level and indicate that the subject had no serious criminal convictions on record at the time of passport issuance. Applicants whose Indian passport was issued within the past six months may present just the Passport Office Police Certificate, and need not obtain additional police clearances.

Applicants over age 16, whose passports were issued more than six months previous to visa application, must also obtain a police clearance from the District Police Office serving the applicant's place of residence.

Indian passport holders applying for visas outside India should obtain a statement from their local embassy or consulate confirming they have no criminal record.

Non-Indian IV applicants residing in India should obtain police certificates from the District Police Station serving their area of residence.

Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) applicants applying outside India.

does anyone know how long police clearance forms are good for? we did ours back in january when we originally filed and just got our packet 3 today, and was wondering if that is still good?

also, my fiancé is here currently in the united states. his mom scanned his packet over to us while he is here on a visit, but since there is stuff that needs his signature, i am not too sure what to do. should i have her mail the packet here? or should i print off the scanned copy and just submit that? he is going back to NZ soon, but not soon enough for all of this stuff to wait

thanks!

She passed the interview !!!!!!!

Her appointment was at 10AM and she got out by 12. The interview was long. We got a list of questions that are normally asked in an interview from a website and we practiced that carefully. Even so, there were some questions that caught her by surprised like "how did I get my citizenship ?", "why did I get a divorce?" etc.

Everything else was pretty much similar to what other users have posted here.
