Thanks. I did put in an e-request last week, but took someone's advice to just put December 2013 as the receive date. My e-request was accepted, and I got back a response saying I should get a status update by middle of July. Instead of getting that update, I received the NOA2. I wonder if I will still get some response back about the e-request.

This is what I did and I got my approval as well. I just put in 12/01/13 as the recieve date in on my e-request on 6/22, and got my NOA2 yesterday 6/30.

Curious how can you call this early to ask for a date ? don't we have to wait 5 months before talking to Tier 2 ?

In our case, we were so close to being a December filer that I didn't think it would be an issue to put December 1, 2013 as the date. My send date was 12/23/2014, and my receive was 12/30/2014. It was just that my NOA1 was 1/2/2014. They have rules listed that if you don't know the date but know the month, then just enter the first of that month. As we were getting close to 6 months anyway, I decided to take that chance, and not "remember" my exact date.

when i filed a service request - i waited about 2.5 weeks for a response (still no NOA2).

i wonder if it was the service request that triggered your NOA2. did you receive a response to the service request prior to your NOA2? maybe your case was already being reviewed.

Apparently they can't actually tell *when* you mailed your petition, just because you got your NOA1 Feb 4th doesn't mean you couldn't have mailed the petition January 4th, it happens. When I tried to put a service request online it asked for the date you MAILED the petition, not for your first NOA1 (that attempt failed since I put my real mail in date, my request was granted by what I now refer to as the Fairy Tier 1 Officer). I would suggest waiting 5 months from your NOA1 to attempt this though. If I wasn't given that service request by that officer, I would've attempted to do this.

Hello. I too have 5 months and 1 week of waiting. I put through both a service request as well as a Senator inquiry. The latter said to wait six months before calling his office which will be in three weeks time. THEN they will do an inquiry. This is really very upsetting.

No LATTER referring to the Senator. Wasn't impressed with the response. You can inbox me if you want. It was Gillibrand. The other Senator was too busy to bother.

I called USCIS this afternoon, the person I spoke to gave me the December 3rd date so I asked to speak to a tier II officer. I got the call back within the 90 minute waiting period. I informed the person I spoke to this time that my case had been assigned to an officer (learned this from the rep from my congressman's office) so they sent a message to that officer and told me I should hear back from them by July 17th the latest. Not sure what this really means in terms of a timeline but all in all it's a step forward. I hope we all hear some good news soon.

On another note maybe we should start a thread for recent petitioners who were assigned to TSC and give a few do's and don'ts, i.e. do contact your senator or local congress person and don't read the general threads to avoid seeing how fast CSC is processing K1's.
