Philippine food items online

My wife now 1 week in the states is really missing her comfort foods. I ordered some items online such as dried fish and Filipino Soy sauce and vinegar and...Aji Moto MSG of all things (will wean her off of this). Ebay had dried fish but was very expensive. Is a 3 hour drive to an Asian store so online is really my only option.

I am in Cental Oregon. The place I ordered was New Jersey, a west coast distributor would be better for shipping cost and delivery time. If I had known that I could have brought dried fish back in my suitcase I would have packed one fullunsure.png

California and Washington has a huge Filipino population seems you could fine a closer online source.... at least one could hope.

Luckily we have two Asian stores near us, so no shortage of White Swan soy sauce or dried fish. Yet there are a few things just not to be found around here.. oh well

Nice! If my cat had immigrated with the wife I could order her the CDO Carne Norte, hehe. I got the strangest looks when I would go to my sari-sari store and get it for my cat, they were jealous.

Prices not too bad on some things. $4 plus for cowshead milk 1 liter? Same as I pay for 8 liters of fresh but then maybe you get accustomed to tasteless milk.

Thanks Senna!

You can compare prices. Just google filipino grocery online. My husband loves Nagaraya and Ilocos Chicacorn so I've been looking for online places where I can get him his supply once I get there lol.

you can ask friends from california where theres a lot of filipino store and have them ship to your place instead of buying it online..it is much cheaper if you know someone. ? just a suggestion.

We got the order delivered from a place filamfood.com and was impressed. I went to the local upscale grocery in the city I am close to and Silver Swan soy sauce was 2.99$ for a small glass bottle, the order I did was 4$ for a large plastic bottle, not bad and the dried fish and all looked very good for someone who may want to eat that kind of food, hehe. I guess she is set for awhile when now.

Thank goodness the only thing my wife craves and wants occassionally is tuna, while although it is expensive it is readily available.

It stresses me out when I convert the prices to pesos and realize how expensive those things are here. I won't ever take my silver swan soy sauce, calamansi and siling labuyo for granted ever again.

I have a low maintenance wife. She is very happy when I send her macaroni and cheese I made (from scratch) to work with her. Tuna maybe 2 times a year. She lives a lot on salads (by her choice). I make other Chinese foods, but they are very low cost...nothing extravagant. Foods are not a big issue with her, especially since she does not cook. Fried brown rice with broccoli and carrots are fantastic to her. We have a very good asian market just 3 minutes from her work, but only get there about 2 times a year.
