Hello all,

My fiance is going to be doing her fiance visa interview at the Jakarta Embassy. We are unsure if, or how many, police reports we will need. On the Indonesian embassy review page here it says:

Each applicant aged 16 or older must have police clearance from any country where the applicant resided for one year or more.
If you have lived in more than one cities in Indonesia for six months or longer you should get the police certificate from the police region of each city (POLDA) or from the police headquarters in Jakarta (MABES POLRI, Jl. Trunojoyo, Kebayoran Baru) which covers all the districts in Indonesia. ** SEE BELOW

**although their website says otherwise, the Jakarta Embassy no longer requires police certificates from local POLDA or POLRI for interviews. Best to ask them this question via email and have the answer in writing when you go, at least until they amend the website.

In reviews I have seen posted here, people have mentioned not needing the police report for a successful K-1 visa application, which seems to be in-line with the ** notation in the quoted material above.

However, my fiance spent several years living in Japan between 2009 and 2011. Would she thus:

A) have to provide the police clearance for Japan

B) have to provide the police clearance for Indonesia

And, assuming that she does have to provide a police report from Japan...does anyone have any idea of what the process for doing this might be?

Thanks!
