My fiance and I just recieved the followig:

On February 19, 2014, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

I was wondering if anyone who has recieved this what was asked of you.... also I think they're going to ask for an affidavit of support but that's my guess...

03/21/2014 - NVC Sent documents to Belgrade Embassy

03/22/2014 - Belgrade Embassy recieved

03/26/2014 - Fiance in Serbia recieved letter rec

04/07/2014 - Fiance sent Packet 3 to Belgrade Embassy

04/18/2014 - Packet 4 Received

04/23/2014 - Interview date (APPROVED!!!)

04/25/2014 - Visa Received

05/05/2014 - US Entry

05/22/2014 - Married (L)

I-129F 60 days for approval

You need to wait for the letter, and read exactly what they want. Everyone's situation is different.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You will know when you get the letter in the mail. I can tell you that they will not be asking for an affidavit of support. That is not required with the I-129F petition. They don't care about financials for processing the petition. They only send an RFE for things that are required. Check through the K-1 guide and what you sent to perhaps get an idea of what you were missing before the letter arrives.

since the I-129F is not approved yet,

there's no way USCIS is asking for an affadavit of support,

so wipe that one bit away, aye?

in the meantime, you have to wait for the postal letter.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

It can be anything, from a missed signature, to a box that wasn't checked, to passport-type photographs not conforming to their standards.

You really need to wait for the hardcopy of the request to see what it is they need. Check out the RFE Master List thread for more examples and tips.

Wanted to thank everyone for your help and support!

Wanted to let you all know that yesterday we received our RFE and they asked for a copy of his passport. We will be sending this tomorrow overnight it and hopefully get an response soon!!
