A disabled Army veteran says he was attacked by a group of teens in downtown Cleveland.

Matthew Robinson told WOIO that he was riding the bus on Feb. 7 when six to eight teenagers surrounded him and beat him up.

"What they were saying was, 'Knock that boy out!' 'White boy.' 'Cracker.' They were saying, 'Knock that white boy out,'" Robinson told the station.

And I bet you 1-100 no hate crime charges will be filed and they will say it was not race motivated. Stuff like this happens all the time. If the races ere reversed it would be 24/7 news cycles, marches, and the president would be sending in the JD.

Head racist here

As We learn more every day on this board about this subject ... There is no way you should call this a hate crime. The term cracker was used and as pointed out. before on this forum ..... this is a very loving term of endearment towards white folks ... If he had beaten within an inch of his life..... it was done with "love"

If more citizens were armed, criminals would think twice about attacking them, Detroit Police Chief James Craig

Florida currently has more concealed-carry permit holders than any other state, with 1,269,021 issued as of May 14, 2014

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

Link to one example on this board stating this type of an act does not equate to a hate crime.

I'm more interested in the post that says "cracker" is a term of endearment?

Only when you refer to them as a 'wheat thin' and then it's a term of endearment.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

They need to put under the cell. I hope the victim lives.

Assaulting someone of a different race is not a hate crime. Assaulting someone because they are a different race is a hate crime. If these guys did this because he was white and they are black, it should be a hate crime. If they did it for another reason, its not.

Its easier than you all are making it.

From the excerpt, looks like it qualifies to me.

Can someone please find the "cracker = love term" thread please? It sounds like a classic.

A term of endearment is a word or phrase used to address and/or describe a person, animal or inanimate object for which the speaker feels love or affection.

If more citizens were armed, criminals would think twice about attacking them, Detroit Police Chief James Craig

Florida currently has more concealed-carry permit holders than any other state, with 1,269,021 issued as of May 14, 2014

Wait a mo, did TM call GZ a 'cracker' over the phone when talking to his boo,

and she gave testimony to same ?

Wow.

Yes but as has been pointed out it is actually a term of endearment. I doubt it hurt her testimony much, racism by non-whites does not really garner much emotional response from whites let alone anyone else.

Penny, the term of endearment was obliviously an exaggeration, meant to comically illustrate that many on here have said that using the term cracker is not that big of a deal and certainly not even in the same ball park as the N word.

It's been talked about to death, and explained that it was whip cracker blah blah blah

When has cracker become a term of endearment?
