Hello,

I am new to the AOS forum, and haven't yet had a fair amount of time to browse around as I did during my K-1 adventures.

My fiance is now in the USA, and we both were approved for the K-1.

We are getting married in March, and then filing our AOS paperwork.

I am curious as to what sort of proofs I should provide for a genuine marriage.

Photos, Marriage photos, health care together via my employer. ( I feel like this should be enough, what do you think? )

Also, what proofs do I need to provide with the I-485 , and I-864?

( Taxes, etc... ? )

AOS

April 18th 2014 - I-485 in acceptance.

June 26th 2014 - EAD/AP approved.

July 2nd 2014 - EAD/AP card arrived in the mail.

August 2nd 2014 - Potential Interview Waiver letter.

Jan 22nd 2015 - Submitted service request to USCIS on delay.

Jan 28th 2015 - Answer to service request that it's still being processed, and apologized for the delay.

Feb 26th 2015 - Jan 26th 2015- Sent in EAD to be renewed.

March 4th 2015- Renewal of EAD received by USCIS.

April 8th 2015 - I-485 Approved / Welcome letter sent.

April 13th 2015 - Welcome letter recieved.

April 15th 2015 - Card mailed.

I added the items you mentioned as well as the following:

1. Husband's 401K account with my name as the beneficiary

2. Life insurance with my name as the beneficiary

I think all of this that you have mentioned should be enough. Some people also sent honeymoon tickets/boarding passes, ultra sound pictures of their pregnancy together...

I'm pretty new on this forum and I'm sure some experienced people can give you more suggestions.

Jun - Job offer in US
Jul - Received my TN-1 to be authorized to work in the US - 2 year valid

Aug - Left for Hong Kong for training - re-entered @ JFK and received 2nd TN

Sep - Continued work in U.S. on TN visa - valid till Jul 31, 2014

2013

April - Met husband for the 1st time

May- decided to get married

August - Married in Texas, honeymoon in Hawaii (did not leave U.S.)

October - Quit TN job in U.S and moved to Ohio

2014

Feb 18th (Day 0) - Mailed in my AOS package via UPS Express (I-130 & I-485, I693, I864, I765, I131)

Feb 19th (Day 1) - UPS tracking shows package delivered!!!

Feb 25th (Day 6) - Rcvd text&email NOA1 (I-130 = Initial Review & I-485=Acceptance, I693, I864, I765=Initial Review,I131 = Initial Review )

Feb 27th (Day 8) - Rcvd NOA1 in the mail

March 4th (Day 13) - Received biometrics appt letter in the mail - (appt for March 20 in Indianapolis)

March 20th (Day 30) - Biometrics Completed in Indianapolis

March 24th (Day 34) - waiting..... waiting.... and waiting for my travel authorization .. really wanna go to Canada

March 31st (Day 41) - AOS - Received text and email for change of status to "interview and testing"

April 7th (Day 48) - AOS - Received text and email for NOA mailed with info about "interview and testing". Says Interview scheduled for May 8th!!!!

April 10th (Day 52) - AOS - Received NOA2 in the mail for interview on May 8th at 9:30 in Indianapolis

All the forms and information you will need to file for AOS. You will need to submit a copy of your marriage certificate. All the "proofs" you mentioned ie: wedding pictures, health care, - you will not need to send with the AOS. You will only need these for the interview if you get selected for one.

Anything to complement the ones already listed above, and you'll just want to bring them to the interview.

Like... documentation of any kids you might have had together (or separately if the other person has legally acknowledged them somehow), papers that show each having the health coverage e.g. from one's work, an older bank statement showing a joint account or a loan etc.

We had health insurance cards also from Ireland (as he was covered there under my contract), and since we have never had any desire to have children - the adoption paperwork for our cats, since it had both our names. :)

You do not need to include any proof of marriage with the AOS application, other than a copy of your marriage certificate when applying from a K-1. If you have an interview, then bring that type of evidence with you.

You need most recent tax transcript, letter from employer and or recent pay stubs with the I-864. What is needed is listed in the I-864 instructions.

Who did you have translate the birth certificate?

Any reliable sources online for a fair price, or certain places I should check out?

I see the birth certificate has to be translated by an official.
