Does the medical have to be completed before the P3 checklist is returned? Or simply booked?

And must a person bring some sort of official documentation of his vaccination record to the medical, or is it enough to know you had them and roughly when?

Hi there!

No, Packet 3 will contain instructions about booking the medical. You just need to get it done before interivew attendance.

My hubby took vaccine records. I kind of don't like the way I'm reading that things are being done now at the clinic regarding the vaccines. Technically for a K1 you don't have to be immunized for anything - it's only a requirement at Adjustment of Status. But I keep reading stories of the clinic now insisting they perform the vaccines and they charge a pretty penny for them. (There was a different provider performing the exams back when my husband had his medical.)

When we had our medical in June last year we had to take our vaccination records with us.....if you need any vaccinations i would definately get them done at your doctors....because at the medical they charge a small fortune for them. To my knowledge you need to have had all the vaccinations....but somebody please correct me if i am wrong and things have changed. The other option is to call them and ask.

No that's what they are telling people. It's a non-immigrant visa and vaccinations are not required for those.

Thanks everyone! Pigu ordered his medical records sent from his old doctor in London to his new one; this was a couple months ago and they still haven't shown up, so we're trying to figure out what to do about his vaccination records if NHS keeps up the incompetence. He really does not want to pay KB prices for new jabs, especially since he's already had everything they require.

That's the point, heishe. KB should not be forcing people to get the jabs. It's supposed to be elective.

As an aside to that, if he can't get the records and you know the jabs he will need at AOS, maybe his Doc over there could just re-administer them. It's my understanding that it doesn't hurt to have them more than once - I mean it hurts to get stuck but it will do him no harm - LOL....

I suppose I'm commenting on this post a fair time after the last comment, but I think my question is relevant!

My fiancee is an Australian citizen and therefore got all of his shots done in Australia when he was a kid! We now live in London though so we'll be having his medical here. However, he has no records whatsoever of where he got those shots down. So, my question is does he now have to have the shots readministered before we do the AOS? Would be be sufficent evidence to just have a blood test done to see which shots he's had? Is that even possible? Do you think/know if it would be easier to get a blood test done or just get the tons of shots readministered?

I read somewhere else that a verbal statement that one has had chicken pox is enough to get out of the vaccination, is that true? Also, when do you recommend getting the vaccinations? Before the medical, before the interview, before point of entry, or just before AOS? I know that we technically don't have to do them until we apply for the AOS, but from experience, is it easier to get them over with now?

Thanks!

Another quick question:

I just looked at this link: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...ccinechart.html

It states: Requirements for routine vaccination of immigrants who are not fully vaccinated (or have no documentation) and are examined overseas. (All vaccines may be given at the same time in different sites of the body.)

If someone wouldn't mind looking at the chart on the link for me and explaining it that would be great. If it says "NO" in the immigrants age box does that mean they are not required to get that vaccination at all? I would of course just assume that is what it means, but I'm just surprised that they are only requiring TD, MMR, and Chicken Pox for those 18-64. I guess I just assumed that they would require more vaccines...

Am I reading this correctly?

Thanks!
