You guys are funny

Pinoy food is sooo not my favorite. I swear I got chicken feet, Pork side meat, Something called belt fish that looks like a shiner.squid all of it eww

We went to a Korean market and got lots of stuff. I recognized the Bulgogi beef and those onion ring snacks. She paid for it though because she has a big girl job now. Yay!!!

Then we went to a Korean restaurant and it was good.

BTW, I think we're hitting Atlanta maybe in April or something. I'll PM you sometime for the scoop on the Asian market scene.

That literally happened to me this past weekend.

As long as its in a family friendly way.

I should invite Marvin over for the weekend..Bring the wife:)

Seriously.. Great guy.. Even though he is as race obsessed as they come at times, at least you can discuss it with him without it getting ugly. I respect that.

He sends me messages in the back ground on occasion, he is always curious to know what it's like to date a black woman.

Now how in the he11 were you able to twist my words between your screen and your eyes SO MUCH that you came up with that concept?

You know what, NVM an answer, I'm sure it wouldn't make any more sense than you trying to put your words into my keyboard when it's quite obvious to all that is not what I said.

No twisting involved, you can't for the life of you envisage how this dude who shot a kid for being obnoxious with his music could be a racist. It's not that hard to see how he might be. Whether or not his motivation was at least in part racial? Well, how often do you get so mad at someone for playing loud music in their car (when there is a quick fix to get yourself out of that situation I mean, cars move, right?) that your temper boils over and you feel the only recourse is lethal retribution? But perceived 'thugs' playing 'rap' with their arses hanging out their pants, they deserve to be shot, right? It's a duty to make America fit to live in again.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

My wife doesn't really get in to the chicken feet. I tried them, wasn't really in. Not gross, just a lot of work for little reward. The annoying part is the family dinners where everyone thinks it's the funniest thing on the planet to try to get the white boy to eat chicken feet. Come to think if it, they do that with every "weird" food. So I eat whatever and don't give them the reaction they want. Always eat two and say, not bad. Ha, take that Asia!

Sure hit me up. There are some really massive international stores in the ATL. One has a little Philippino food booth that is very good if you like Pinoy food which i don't. But the Pancit and Halo Halo were good today. Crispy Pata not bad

Now wait a darn minute... you married a Canuck, right? So what are you doing dabbling in da Pinoy foods?

Chicken feet in the Philippines are different than in the South. Well, they CAN be. I think PI has the cooked, large ones just like South, USA. But they ALSO have the deep-fried chick feet. Now THOSE are tasty. Kind of like eating chips while drinking. A bit salty, some are spicy, and real crunchy.

And then there's Balut...

Some Halo Halo is good, but I can do without the beans. The palm fruit and other sweetness, great.

You don't like any Pinoy food? I tend to like Pancit (both varieties), Adobo, Caldereta, sizzling sisig, Sinigang, something that sounds like gneeling, Lechon, Tinola, Kare-Kare, and I even liked Diniguang. Didn't think I would. Balut... tried it, wasn't as bad as I thought, still can't get over the idea of it. But it's neat watching Pinoys, especially the kids, scarf it up like it's chocolate. OH, I almost forgot Kinilaw... delicious. I make the Pandesal. Taho and Puto are good too.

Man, I need to go back to the PI now!

My wife was born in Hong Kong. Moved to Canada when young. Apparently this is very normal because Toronto and Vancouver have huge Chinese populations and therefore lots of Asian eateries. We frequent them nearly excusively when visiting. And we've been to Hong Kong to visit. Well, I've only been once, she's gone back a lot before I came around. Edited by GandD

Ah yes, I seem to recall you saying something about it before. Perhaps you should change your flag to a dual China/CA one so I won't be confused in 30 minutes when I forget this convo...content.gif

Tripe. You should cook lots and lots of tripe. All kinds. Bonus points for venison tripe. Remind the old geezers that venison tripe keeps their members hard.

Bonus points for cooking it in a wok and a group of HongKees seeing you do it.

Want to practice, you say? Go get 'Eat, Drink, Man Woman' movie and watch the first 5 minutes in slo mo. No, I'm not kidding.

Why? Hong Kong ain't China, no matter what China has done to it after the UK returned it to them.

You really wanna upset loads of Canadian HongKees? Please don't refer to HongKees as Chinese.

Or was that purely a racist comment designed to evoke a reaction? ;)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
