Here's a comparison. Richard Sherman was called a thug for what he said. Michael Grimm, the politician who threatened to throw that reported off the balcony wasn't called anything. He said he was going to break that dude in half, much more violent that anything Sherman said, yet he was never called a thug.

Yep, and when black kids wear caps and listen to rap music, that's what they're called. Justin Beiber has been running around acting that that for a hot minute, why hasn't anyone called him a thug yet?

Read NB's comment about black men and crime. That's the root. Even if there is no evidence, there's always that chance they could grow up to be criminals.

Well, first, there is much more media attention given to football than to politics. I'm sure there are a lot of people who aren't even familiar with the Grimm story. As for Beiber, there have been many times that I've heard people say that he's trying to act like a thug. He's the most feminine thug ever; but he's trying.

Richard Sherman is said to be a very bright man. But, his behavior on the field and after the game was thuggish. That has nothing to do with race. There are hockey players who get in a lot of fights; they're the hockey goons. And I remember hearing about soccer hooligans in England. Are the word goon and hooligan racist or are they just descriptions of behavior?

Sadly since the daily show made the same observation most of the quotes on the first few pages deal with the same issue. Dig past them a few pages and there is article after article calling JB a Thug (usually followed by "wannabe") and a host of other unflattering words.

I do see your point though - words are associated with a set of attributes. A little skinny person will almost never be called a thug - or course the negative words being bandied about for Just Beiber are never going to be used against Richard Sherman - I'm guessing nobody is going to be calling him a crybaby sissy or posting up his picture next to Miley.

He had already talked about how the jail was "full of blacks" ... why keep feeling the need to say what color his cellmates were in addition to calling them animals?

I would say that calling someone an animal is nowhere near racist. Perhaps the people he was incarcerated with were acting like animals? Peeing on the floor perhaps? Eating with their hands? IDK, just speculating, as you seem to be.

Now show me where he used the n-word or other descriptors to refer to the blacks, and you have a case for him being racist. Or if he called the white guys in jail "people" while referring to the blacks as "animals". Mind ye, I am not trying to defend this swine, just saying show me the racist comments. The video where he was caught on tape saying this, not one outlet said look at this dude acting like a thug. And Beiber, if wearing a hat, sagging pants and trying to be hard is thug, then that's what he is. I know it's a stretch, I'm trying to keep a straight face when I say it.

I just got off the phone with you and we were talking about how racist the blacks are up here. The more time I am exposed to these people, the more prejudiced against them I become.

What part of being dead did he deserve for playing music too loud? I have people driver past my house on a regular basis with their car radios thumping base far, far too loud and I don't automatically think, oh it's a black dude - it probably isn't in my neighbourhood so playing loud music in an ignorant fashion in a car doesn't equate to being black nor is it something that sparks shootings so explain how in any circumstance this could be even partly justified?
