Not surprising. I wouldn't expect much different, being in jail. Though I doubt the color of their skin had little to do with their thuggishness or animal-like qualities.

I edited to add another comment from him.

Is Dunn a thug and an animal? He's in jail too.

If the color of their skin had nothing to do with their "thuggishness" or "animal-like qualities" ... why feel the need to specify what color they are?

Marvin Jesus. Back away from the edge. He was not found not guilty. It was a mistrial more than likely because of the murder one charge.

Dude, it wasn't the murder one charge. Take a minute to let this sink in:

Split over self-defense

On the murder charge, Valerie said the jury split over the issue of self-defense.

The issue was that 3 people thought this was a case of self defense. Meaning, it was justified. They also went for 2nd degree and manslaughter, but couldn't get those either. Because in the eyes of those 3, that man was in danger of being killed by a kid who didn't have a record, a weapon, or anything else, but was so dangerous it took ten shots in a vehicle full of teens to stop him.

The only reason he's going to jail is because the 3 other kids lived. If he killed them and said they all tried to rush them with their imaginary weapons, he'd be home free.

Young black men are more dangerous than most other groups. Statistical fact. You may not like. It. There are numerous causes but fact it is. They account for many many times Thierry share of crime based on percent of population

So that means that every young black male is going to be a killer? Those 4 kids hadn't been in any trouble. Are we going to assume every kid in a cap and tennis shoe listening to rap music is a homicidal maniac?

Hell, he's more of a thug than they ever were. Thug is the new n-word.

First, nobody has ever said that every young black male is going to be a killer. Nobody has even said that every young black male is a criminal.

Second, thug is not the new n-word. It is merely a description of a person's character and behavior. I don't care what that Seattle football player said, thug has nothing to do with race.

You very rarely hear white youths be described as 'thugs' though, to be honest. You can shoot up a school full of kids and nobody calls you a thug if you're white. Listen to rap music too loud and you're a thug.

I would for sure classify Dunn as a thug. In fact, he was probably the worst criminal among all the thugs in the cell, considering what he did.

Sometimes people include color in their descriptions. I know I do it sometimes. "A kid rode by on his bike" would suffice, but I might say "A black kid rode by on his bike". My immediate neighborhood is about 50/50 on color. If it were all black or all white, I would probably never add the color descriptor either way.

He had already talked about how the jail was "full of blacks" ... why keep feeling the need to say what color his cellmates were in addition to calling them animals?

Where I live, I almost never see a black thug. Keep in mind that my city is over 60% Hispanic and only about 7% black. So, the majority of thugs I see are Hispanic.

Thug just describes behavior.

Here's a comparison. Richard Sherman was called a thug for what he said. Michael Grimm, the politician who threatened to throw that reported off the balcony wasn't called anything. He said he was going to break that dude in half, much more violent that anything Sherman said, yet he was never called a thug.

Yep, and when black kids wear caps and listen to rap music, that's what they're called. Justin Beiber has been running around acting that that for a hot minute, why hasn't anyone called him a thug yet?

Read NB's comment about black men and crime. That's the root. Even if there is no evidence, there's always that chance they could grow up to be criminals.

What? That he is trolling for a little love? Wearing pants like that comes from inmates wanting to let other inmates know they are willing and available. If you missed that, the pink shoes are a dead giveaway.

Or, his diapers are full.
