Once you enter the States with your CR1 visa, and after you have received your SSN head over to your local DMV and either apply for a state ID or a driver's license. A driver's license in the States is considered a valid ID.

Are you close to your interview stage? I wouldn't worry about it right now if you are not.

But you can google the DMV of your state and you will find all the information there.

The poster that stated try googling your state requirements - for a "-state- I.D. card requirements" or "-state-" driver's license requirements." My gal got a learner's permit while her I-94 was still valid and it expired with her I-94. She used it as an I.D. until she got her EAD and then official driver's license. This was in the state of Georgia.

I was not sure, thats why I was asking.. OP doesn't have a timeline, she just stated that she is a CR1 visa.

Regardless what stage, she can still find all the info on state IDs and driver's licenses on her local DMV website.
