Moving while AOS Pending

It has been 79 days since I received the NOAs for my AOS & EAD. We filed from Alabama, but now my wife has received job offers in Dallas, Texas. We had our biometrics done on 10/31/06 but have not received the EAD or an AOS Interview letter from the local CIS office (Atlanta, GA). Is moving now to Dallas, TX a bad idea and will it slow down the process ... and if my wife accepts the job and we move, will my case by transferred to Dallas, TX Office and will this reset the processing times and we start from scratch.

Any clues anyone.

Working without EAD approval is not a good idea. So, once EAD is approved, you can consider moving to Dallas and file AR11 + call customer service to notify change of address and then hope that USCIS does it's job.

I am sorry that I misread your post. You can move after filing AR11 and notifying customer service but no guarantee that they will change your address correctly on your petitions.

Help ANYBODY

We moved after filing for AOS and it did cause a delay for us. We filed for AOS in December of '05. We moved from St. Louis to Boston in July of '06 and (wouldn't you know it) our appointment letter came the day after we closed on the sale of our house back in St. Louis. We didn't even know it until the new owners forwarded a stack of mail to us in August, two days before what would have been our green card interview in STL. We got on the phone immediately and explained that we had moved and filed AR-11, but it had not 'caught up' with our interview letter. USCIS was actually very understanding and helpful, but our green card interview is next week, a full five months later than our original interview date. Other than having to wait longer, it hasn't been much trouble beyond that. The only real pain it has caused us is that now my wife's medical is over a year old and we're having to get a new full medical exam with her vaccination supplement before the interview.

Hope this helps,
