hi guys,

can somebody help me clarify my travel documents bec im planning to visit my family in the phils in feb and im confused about my travel documents...

here's the questions:

a. my passport is still in my maiden name and my green card is in my married name. will this gonna be an issue in immgiration? do i need to bring my marriage certificate with me ?

b. i dont need to get a re-entry visa or advace parole since i got my green card and it is good for 2 yrs. am i right about this?

hi katty,

You should purchase a roundtrip ticket in your maiden name to match your passport that still in your maiden name. Note that you have to be out of the US not exceeding 6 months or your residency will be revoke.

A. YES, you need to bring your marriage certificate for you to use whenever you re-entry US again to match your passport in maiden name & greencard in married name.

B. YES, you will use your greencard to show your status as permanent resident of US until it expires.
