What percent above poverty does my sponsor need to make for income?

100% but really shoot for the 125% because when you adjust status after marriage it will have to be that.

Since you don't have your country or a timeline its hard to say what your embassy wants every embassy is different some for K1 will only take 125%.

Look at the new guidelines that came out for 2014.

It's 125% as far as I know

They are a K1 so 100% usually but many CO's want to see the Sponsor at least be at 125%. Depends on Country.

Most embassies look for 125%. You will need be at 125% when it comes time for AOS anyway, which is shortly after marrying... don't meet the 125% requirement... NO green card.
