I apologize to Slim as I re-read my question to him I can see how it could sound accusatory. That was not my intent. I did not mean to insinuate anything or put you in a negative light at all.

This kind of behavior will not be tolerated here. :)

Property damage and vandalism is hardly harmless.

I'm not saying the dude was justified to open fire but you bleeding heart, "those poor kids" folks should consider, yet again, a kid was killed while committing a criminal act. Before you go feeling sorry for them, ask yourself why criminal acts are acceptable to you.

Property damage? It was toilet paper, eggs and mayo. Hardly a crime worthy of a death sentence.

No, it was a fair question, based on some of the responses from other users in this forum. It gets into your blood sometimes I think, reading all the wacky responses here. You were just feeling him out. And... better out than up! Stay straight...rofl.gif

Do I think we should shoot kids for egging cars? No. But, do I think we should beat the holy hell out of them for doing something they know is wrong? Absofreakinlutely.

Sounds like quite the overreaction.

I didn't get my ####### beat when I messed up growing up. It worked too!! It's almost like there isn't only ONE way to raise respectful kids. Imagine that.

I just watched the video. It was a black man, who killed a black Teen, and a black police chief.

What you gonna do with this one Marvin?

Nothing, he's black. He'll be charged with the crime and put in jail.

You are korek, there are multiple ways to skin any cat. Kids in my generation were normally tended to with a belt or a switch. Did it always work? No. But I'd wager a guess (no link, sorry) that there were a larger number of successful grown-ups outta that group than there are nowadays from kids who get a "time out" (or soft words) when they screw up.

If he said he felt threatened, it's plausible.

Marvin, as an outsider, I gotta say that you bring it up more than anyone else I know. It's your life, you're free to do so, but I think it hurts more than it helps. Saying that as... as good of a friend as any two can be on an open forum like this.

You clearly do not have any evidence to back up your opinion. I have no idea why anyone today would think that beating the out of kids is the answer to 'screwing' up. There is a lot of information out that that conclusively proves that the fear of physical violence is not a good teaching tool. Perhaps a little research? I guess for you being beaten is like a right of passage, I can't think of any other reason for championing its use.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I didn't take it that way. We're good.
