What Visa do I need?

Hi,

My husband who is the US Citizen and I (Aussie Citizen) have been married for 13yrs. Hubby moved to Aussie when we met . We have three children aged 12, 9, 7 (who hold US Citizenship). I am the only Alien in the family lol.

We are visiting his family in the US in June/July and pending this visit we may consider a move back to the US.

I have no clue on what Visa i need to apply for if we decide to move back

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Yup. You'll see lots of people posting petitions about the long wait on this forum.

Man i didn't realise it took so long, why so long?? I mean thats ok cause hubby can go back and get us set up before the kids and i fly over, but man thats a while.

It used to be 6-12 months for a USC to petition a spouse. Now it's 12-18. The blame for the slowdown is resources being diverted to work on the President's deferred action to help children brought illegally to the US as minors.

That sucks for us, 6-12months is reasonable, but 12-18, man oh man....With this Visa how long do you have to set foot in the USA onces it is granted

The visa expires 6 months or 6 months from your medical exam whichever comes first. So, it could be valid for 6 months or less.

Ok thanks, do you have to do the medical in any particular order, or can you do it last? I am thinking 12-18months i will have everything in order to just go once the visa is granted

You will take the medical exam before your interview for your visa. The Us Embassy needs the results to grant the visa.
