Hello

My Fiancee went to interview in El Salvador on February 12 2013.

she spoke with around 4 persons there. Everyone told her everything looked good.

They also gave her a paper telling her how to pick up her passport and traverl docs.

Then the last lady told her she had to come back at 2pm and have het tattoos checked out.

She did and the co in the evening asked her the same questions again.

He was asking the same questions a few time in diffrent ways says.

There was another guy there for the same reason at the same time with her.

They took them both to a room in the embassy.

After he asked them both a bunch of questions.

He told them to follow him, led them both to the door and told them

they could leave.

She asked what was going on if the visa was approved or denied.

All he said was that no one in the building was going to give them anymore info

and that they had to leave.

A few days later we got an email saying we were inelegible due to 221(g)

According to what I have read that is what is called AP.

All the email says is that we need to schedule an interview.

So I was just wondering if anyone has had to do a 2nd interview and

if they wanted more documents or not.

Just do not know what to do. Why would they want a 2nd interview and not

require anymore documents.

Thanks everyone

Usually a paper is given that tells the reason for the 221g and states if any additional documentation is required. Contact the consulate and ask them about your case status and procedure/requirements for second interview.

~ Moved from K-1 Process to Waivers and Administrative Processes - topic is 221g ~

All this waiting is frustrating!!

El Salvador embassy is very strict on TATS what they

did was check out the tattoo on her, they have tats they

classify as gang or drug related, clowns, area codes, guns,

M13, teardrops , Eagles, swords ,ppls faces among many

others. those interviewing there should 4get about getting a

tattoo until after U have the visa, and those planning on

removing it be sure to take a picture of the tat B4 its removed

as they will ask for it...not knowing what was there is almost

definitely a denial

I understand gang related tattoos is a no no. My husband is from El Salvador and he have 2 non gang related tattoos (which are simple phrases in Chinese letters). We are in AP for almost 9 months but we are not in AP just because of his tattoos.

Hi, I have a question about the interview. I know that the documents should be translated to English but I would like to know If the interview was in English or Spanish. My husband is from El Salvador and he will have to go to the Embassy at some point to do an interview. His English proficiency is limited and I was wondering what language they will use to interview him. Thanks :)

English or Spanish. Whatever he's comfortable with. My husband had his interview in Spanish.

Hello, has anyone had any more recent experience with the US consulate in San Salvador and I-601A applicants with tattoos? The applicant has had his I-601A approved, but has not been scheduled for a consular interview yet. The applicant has many tattoos, none of which are gang-related (the tattoos are listed below). All of the tattoos were done professionally with a well-known tattoo artist. I understand that religious symbols can also be viewed as "gang-related." I'm also worried that the sheer number of tattoos could be viewed negatively.

Secondly, has anyone with tattoos had any luck with submitting a declaration by a gang expert stating that the symbols are not gang-related? If so, when did you submit that evidence and which expert did you use? What was the outcome?

Thirdly, has anyone tried submitting a declaration by the tattoo artist stating that the symbols are not gang-related? If so, when did you submit that evidence, and what was the outcome?

-Jesus portrait

-dagger w/ “love” inscription

-praying hands image w/ “family” inscription

-" actions over words" written in Latin

-Archangel Gabriel figure

-Virgin Mary figure

- Roses

-Tribal jaguar image

-heart with crown image

-small skull (a punk band logo)

-sparrow image

- Applicant's name in Chinese characters

-“SXE” in old english font (meaning “straight edge drug free lifestyle")

Thank you in advance for your help!
