A K-1 is entitled to a SSN as long as there is 14 days left on their I-94.

If you missed the window, you can put "none" in the SSN box on the I-485. You will have a chance to get one later.

For a driving license, it depends on the state, but he will probably not be able to drive until he get his EAD. Check the laws of your state.

Yes to the SSN. It says to wait about 10 business days after arriving in the US to get the SSN.

I'm in SC and even though it took me three visits to the DMV, I did get my drivers license before receiving my EAD or GC. They were just being difficult....surprise surprise at the DMV

As Harpa mentioned, driver license requirements vary from state to state. Here is a link to CA DMV: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/dl.htm

Good luck on your immigration journey.
