Hi All,

First time poster and what a wonderful site.

I am the petitioner for my fiancee who lives in Mexico. We filed in December and thankfully are paperwork is going smoothly and quickly.

We just received the notice from the NVC that our case is being forwarded onto the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez.

We were thinking the process would take a little longer and we were planning to have my fiancee visit during the process.

Did we miss the window of time that we could also apply for a Tourist Visa / B2?

The notice indicates that my fiancee should fill out a DS 160 for a K1. Will this affect the DS 160 for the B2?

At this point in the process on average how much longer are we looking at to have an interview scheduled for the K1?

We hadn't applied earlier for the Tourist Visa / B2 since my fiancee is currently unemployed and is living with her parents. We were and are concerned about strong "ties and assets".

We received the NOA1, NOA2 and the NVC notice but I have not seen an Alien Registration number for my fiancee. Where can I go to get this?

I referred to the K1 guidelines but I am a little confused about the next steps that I should be taking. I have employment and income verification to prepare the I-134 but what else should I be doing?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Thanks for the response! I will review the information on the thread provided.

I-129F Receipt Date = 12/16/2013

Notice Date of NOA2 = 01/24/2014

NVC will forward petition to U.S. Consulate Notice = 02/11/2014

I hope this helps.

Search for the member Jay-Kay, they have a link in their signature that will guide you through the Ciudad Juarez procedures.

Good luck!

Also, depending on when interviews are available, I would just skip the B2 and her tourist visit. Hang in there a few more weeks and have her travel to the US for good.
