Traveling with AP, should I be worried?

My wife's AOS here in the US is still pending and she has her AP/EAD combo card that is valid until September. We haven't received any news regarding a decision or appointment yet, we called a few months and they said to sit tight. She wants to visit her family in Bolivia, but I am worried that she won't be able to return to the US. Do I have anything to be concerned about? She doesn't need a visa to come back from Bolivia right?

You may want to print out information about the combo card or take the letter that accompanied it since some airline representatives in other countries are not familiar with the combo card. We traveled with it to Cuba, and the airport representative in Havana almost didn't let my husband leave because he had never seen it before. I would also bring a copy of your marriage certificate.

You will have no problems re-entering the US. No other visa needed.

I thought leaving the country with an AOS and AP filed was abandonment of the AOS and you couldn't return. Is that wrong?

The OP says she has received the AP/EAD combo card so she is free to travel. Edited by Sarah&Michel

Thanks, that's a good idea. I have heard stories about Bolivia's shady customs people so who knows what will happen.
