Hello,

We sent with my husband a I-130 form to the USCIS and our priority date is the October 28th 2013.
We filed this I-130 as my husband is in the States, and I'm waiting abroad in France, my original country.
I'm sending you this mail, cause we're lost and we don't know what to think with all the informations we're getting from internet.
There's no further movements for our category F2A until the middle of the year when apparently the current date will retrogress. Is that true?
Does that mean we're stuck until 2020 for our date to become current?
Because a website called "My GC Visa" gives a calculator (http://www.mygcvisa.com/Calculator/) to know when our priority date will become current and that's the answer we get:
Based on March 2014 data, your Priority Date may become current around May 2020
We're pretty confused since last month they said our priority date would became current around September 2014.
Can you help us please? Could you enlighten us on our situation?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards.

Don't look at websites that possibly want money from you. The official website is here, and it shows a wait time of less than 6 months.: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin/2014/visa-bulletin-for-march-2014.html

Now yes, this may change and become longer, but chances are, not 6 years longer.

That is a useless website and basically offer no information than try to create traffic to their website., Their predictions are not based on any Demand data which is needed to make a useful prediction. Second, even if there is retrogression in the July 2014 bulletin, it will not be for more than a yr or max 2yrs. Cannot be 6yrs. Doesn't make sense.

Thank you everybody for your precious help.

It's sometimes an informations maze on the internet when it comes to USCIS/NVC processes.

One day you think you got it, and the other you're completely lost.

Thanks! :)

I really don't suggest you guys trust any of these sites that estimates when your priority date will be current, because I really doubt their calculate is anywhere near accurate. Like for instance it is telling me that my priority date December 2, 2013 will be current in April 2014 and I highly doubt that is possible. As a matter of fact I don't think the Visa Bulletin will move forward for f2a again until October 1, when the new fiscal year begins and they allot new numbers.

Hey AntoineK,

Yep my Petition got approved in just 2 months. As a matter of fact most F2a filers from August-December at USCIS California Service Center have already been approved.

I agree.

I think it will be possible to get a visa from one year to two years. Because 220,000 people were on the waiting list in October 2013. And only 80,000 visas available every year. 50% of people leave from the waiting list because they change category. So waiting is from one to two years. It will depend on how many people will leave the waiting list.
