DS-160 Question

Just curious when filling out the DS-160 form, it asks you select the location where you will be applying for the visa. Do you need to select the US consulate where the petition was sent after the NVC? I am curious because my fiance is from Mexico and our peition got sent to the US consulate in Juarez. Juarez is pretty far from where she lives and there are other options that she could select that are closer to her location so she wouldn't need to travel as far.

Thanks

It should be the location of the consulate where you will have your interview.

Alright thanks, I was hoping she could select an office that is closer to her location. Is Juarez the only place that does the interviews in Mexico? When she was filling out the DS-160 is asked her to select the office that is closest and most convenient to her location so she selected guadalajara. she has already submitted the DS-160 is this going to delay anything?

Thanks

There are several consulates in Mexico, but when it comes to family type visas, meaning for couples, kids, etc, where an interview is required, Juarez is the only place.

not sure what you'll find, but aeromexico was the cheapest for me. flew from yucatan peninsula, connected in DF then to Juarez. in 2013 i think round trip was $250 per ticket

I *HIGHLY* recommend google.com/flights. Not only does it show you everyone's prices, it also lets you see the prices of the flights on surrounding days. So, it might be that you can save A LOT of money by flying a day earlier, or later. Or maybe even 4 days later. Only flight search site that I know of that'll let you compare MONTHS at a time.
