Hi..I'm done with my interview but the consul asked me to obtain police clearance from UK because I stayed in London for 2 years. They give 221g form. My question is for example I send it back to us embassy the police clearance, how long it takes to get my visa? Thank you for your response.

And how long it takes to get police clearance in UK? Any idea? Please help! Thank you.

Once I applied for Police Certificate (I guess this is how they call it) and sent it, I received it in 2 weeks (it was sent from Lithuania). They were great with this. They even sent me an e-mail note after they received my application stating that my information given to them was presented ok.

Oh I see...thank you very much...2 weeks? Even you paid 80 sterling pounds for 2 days processing? And I paid 48 for international courier?

No, I paid 45 pounds for the cheapest mailing as I didn't need to get it fast. I received it in about 10 days after they sent me an e-mail note stating that they got my application.

It depends on the country. Some have their act together and some do not. And some won't send it to you; instead it goes direct to the embassy.

Your best bet for info is to google "police clearance <name of country>" Usually you get a website of that police dept with the info you are looking for.
