Hi All

Here is the situation we are in right now.

My Fiance had her medical done in islamabad and was told she does not require any vaccinations and it was mailed to her( Sealed envelope and copies of X-rays). She took the envelope to the interview and was granted visa. We are now in USA and married a couple of weeks ago.

My question is now what should we do for the vaccination record? do we need to do the full medical (which i believe we don't need as she would not get the visa in first place if that was not done). Also will the civil surgeon office only do the vaccinations here and give us the sealed envelope to send with the AOS package.

Anyone with this experience please respond. Thanks

The CS will do the vaccinations if any are needed. Get a copy of the I-693Afor yourself.

Ask around for fees, they vary. You do not need another complete medical.

Hopefully someone from your area can let you know about the CS they went to and the fees or just call the list.

I disagree, We never were asked for the I-693. It might very well be in the sealed packet.

If you have not been told you need it I would wait for an RFE, if you are the organized type, you may want to get quotes for this but it may be totally unnecessary.

At the original medical, were you told that you didnt need any vaccinations due to already being current? or that you didnt need vaccinations ... period?

If it is the latter then you will need to go to a CS and have the vaccinations done.. usually just MMR, TD and Varicella. unless you have had chicken pox. The CS will then provide the I693a supplenent. You do not need the full medical done, if you are within 12 months of the original overseas one.

If you were current with your vaccinations, and the original panel physician signed off on the vaccination worksheet, you should be fine. Most people try to get a hold of that and will send a copy with your AOS submission. If you dont send anything, I would probably put a letter in stating that you have already submitted this with your entry packet, but remember that those doing the intial processing are pretty much trained monkeys, so dont be surprised if you get a RFE.

Thanks for your reply. I am still wondering what to do? Anyway i am going to call them and ask for the copy of ds3025 or what ever form they submitted with the sealed package they gave us for the interview. So far i have been told by a few CS offices i will need to do the whole vaccination thing. Hope i get a better answer from the original clinic i didthe medical.
